We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

Excellent review. Thankyou. I guess one way of looking at the resistance levels would be to view them as gears. As the bike goes up and the resistance increases to the point where your cadence starts to fall you can decrease the resistance step by step like changing gears. As the bike goes down, the opposite is true. Would this be a reasonable thing to assume? I am currently a Proform TDF 5.0 owner which has "gears"

Thanks for watching! You could use the resistance with the incline/decline feature kind of like gears here. It really just depends on how challenging of a ride/workout you want.

Good video on the new version of the NordicTrack 22i, however I wish you had talked about the comparisons like you explained at the beginning of the video. I’m interested to know how this compares to last year‘s model and other models that you mentioned. I’m going back-and-forth with spending extra money on this 22 version or to buy last year‘s model

Most noticeable differences are moving the speakers from the back to the front of the screen. Consequently the fan is tiny in comparison to the 2021 model and nowhere near as powerful. Also they've replaced the pedals so that the other side uses spd cleats. This was meaningless to me as I replaced the pedals with dual sided Shimano SPD ones.

thank you for this video ! 🇫🇷 When you plot your own route on maps, does the bike adapt to the incline of the road or is it only in the saved programs?

When you pick your own route in Google Maps, what do you see on the screen when biking the route?
@TreadmillReviewGuru
@TreadmillReviewGuru 2 жыл бұрын
Choosing your own bike route is nice but in the Google Maps view it just shows you one image after the other and moves kind of clunky. It's exactly the same way you would look at street view on google maps on your computer at home. So, unfortunately it's not video, just frame by frame image that loads.

Thanks for the review TRG, I'm curious. With the bike being so quiet, how does it work if I want to use earbuds or headphones for the content? No matter how quiet that bike is to operate, the interactive workouts are going to be noisy as heck if I'm trying to be stealthy and not wake the family up in the morning.

With so many complaints/issues with the motor and incline how does one decide whether or not to purchase such an expensive piece of equipment??Is it just a gamble??

I love my 2020 NordicTrack S22i no issues or problems since I’ve owned it. I suggest you hire a professional assembler to put bike together.. it’s worth the investment. And, NordicTrack and iFit teams are readily available on Facebook messenger if you have any curious questions and for support!

I've had an S22i for about 17 months now. Overall, love the bike. Two issues I've found. 1st one you noted: the seat. My wife and I found it very uncomfortable and went to an aftermarket replacement. Second issue: The screw clamps for the seat post and front post do not keep them in place. I have cranked down on these and the seat and front post invariably drop. I've not found a solution yet and have put off contacting Nordictrack. No longer. I'll see if they've found a solution. I'm at a point now where I'll drill the posts and use pins at the necessary levels for me and my wife. Other than that, really, I do love the bike. (For info I'm 602/214lbs)

My bike seat post does not function correctly either; my problem is the seat post sticks-will not move up/down consistently-- even when I remove the handle entirely....

Great videos, I’ve watched so many over the last couple days. I found the 2021 version new for $1350 with free delivery. Do you think there’s enough upgrades on the 2022 version to justify the $550 difference?

Thanks for watching! You really can't go wrong with either model. While the upgrades are definitely nice, they really aren't that drastic to make a significant difference between the two.

Enjoyed the video. It was very informative and answered a lot of questions. Also appreciated issues such as the monitor shaking and what one can do to address that issue. Do the weights come with this model? I noticed on other bikes, these are included. I'm still undecided, but this video is really helping me to finally make a decision on which bike I want to invest in. Thank you.

Here is what everyone needs to know about Nordic Track. It was a great bike no doubt when we got it in 2020. However over time this bike has broken down on us several times. Most recently we have been waiting for over two months to get it fixed. Their customer service is the worst. Hold times of several hours and then no resolution. Finally paid $150 to have someone from Nordic Track to come out only to tell us he could not help us. Currently we have no solutions. Stay away from NordicTrack in general they sell you and walk away.

If anyone is on the fence about buying this bike or any bike with a built-in screen, DON'T DO IT. The built-in screen has major network connection issues, just Google around and you'll see. I live in AZ and the time zone is MST and even after making sure the bike was set to MST it still set the time an hour ahead. When I set it to PST it would keep the correct time but that's not the correct TZ. I checked my router and the date/time zone is correct. No other devices on my network have time or connection issues, just this bike. Tying everything to the screen is really frustrating. The incline and resistance adjustment cables are attached to the screen so if you take the screen off, the controls won't work on the bike. If you don't want to pay the $30+/month membership fee the screen is useless because you can't even watch Netflix or any other streaming service without paying for their subscription or using some workaround that will eventually be patched over. Yes you read that correctly, you can't even download a streaming app because it's behind a paywall. So say you don't want to use their expensive workouts, you just want to watch Netflix. Well you have to pay for the iFIT subscription just to gain access to the Netflix app. Don't feel like you want to stare at a big huge blank screen, you just want to watch your TV instead? Nope. Gotta leave the screen attached so the controls on the bike work. What happens when the screen goes out? You have an expensive paper weight. This is the Apple version of a stationary bike. I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding this bike at all costs. In fact I would recommend avoiding any equipment that relies on a built in screen because chances are it won't function without it. There isn't even an on/off button on the screen or anywhere on the bike at all. They recommend you unplug the device every day in order to preserve the longevity of the components. Um....what? I work in IT and if there's one thing you NEVER do is unplug a device from the wall to shut it off. You do what's called a graceful shutdown by shutting the device down from within the operating system. Yanking the power cord is going to do far more damage to equipment than leaving it running. The screen is basically an all-in-one computer with the CPU, RAM, etc built into the screen. Who here that has an AIO or iMAC computer shuts it off by yanking the power cord out of the power outlet? Yeah, nobody because that's idiotic. That also applies to this bike's screen. I've had a bike for five years that cost $500 no screen attached and has a holder for an iPad. Zero issues. I would suggest buying a bike like that. My mom paid thousands for this Nordictrack and day one it's nothing but issues. Avoid at all costs.

I have the S27i. It is almost the same bike as the S27I. I like the bike but have some disappointment. The fan is crazy loud, like it is rubbing internally. Also the screen won’t turn left or right. It appears they tightened the nut that holds the screen mount too tight. They included a big wrench that fits that nut to adjust tightness of rotating screen but the nut is too tight too move. I contacted support about the fan and they said they will mail me a new screen because the internal fan cannot be replaced. Replacing the screen will no doubt fix the internal fan problem. However when I told support about not being able to pivot screen left or right they said that is normal. They are wrong. However I will address that problem after I get a new screen. The problem that bothers me the most however is the video. It pauses about every 5 seconds. The pauses are about ¼ of a second or less. It is crazy annoying. I went online to research the problem and there are thousands of people with the same problem. There are even videos on the subject, even hacking videos to try to help with the video stuttering. I have crazy fast internet also, 850 Mb. So I know it is not my internet speed. I have tried 2.4 and 5 GHZ, nothing helps. As a side note my router is 5 foot from the bike. I will address this issue after I get the new screen. I hope it can be fixed since so many people have the same problem. Does your video pause every 5 seconds or so? It seemed like it did on the video you showed using ifit.

Same here. The pausing/buffering is maddening. Thank goodness it's only the video and not the sound. I'm exploring options with one being playing the iFit workout on the TV and on the monitor simultaneously. Starting both at the same time and then throwing a towel over the monitor should still give me the auto-incline-auto resistance option while watching the tv, which is the reason we bought this instead of a $300 bike. Good luck!

This bike worked for 13 months, one month after the warranty ran out. Needs a new control panel that costs about $500 found on the Internet. At around six months, the screen was freezing and then wouldn't turn on, had to call customer service to have to reset the bike, which deleted all of my rides and progress. DO NOT BUY THIS BIKE!
