No AI will be able to deal with this poetry, this sensitivity and this magic. Superb playing, as usual John.

wow these unmeasured stuff comes directly from the lute (sv Weiss stuff etc) or rather were existing at same time; anyway, amazing, and great version with the manuscript that's fascinating; thank you!

Beautiful! Tell me, John, the two versions, the ms and the published one, what material are they on? Paper? Vellum? I'm fascinated by how music came to be written down... and on what. 🙂

Thank you! Unfortunately I don't know what material was used. I would imagine that the published version is on paper (not an expert, but I suspect published music would be printed on paper), and, at least by the late 17th-century, manuscripts would also mostly be paper, but this is an area I haven't researched very much. Incidentally, the manuscript is available on IMSLP. KZbin won't let me post a link, but if you go to the page for d'Anglebert, it's under the title "Pièces de clavecin et airs de différents auteurs."

@@johnmoraitis Yes, you are right. I looked into it. I got confused thinking about a Machaut manuscript I once studied, but that is 200 or 300 years earlier. Now I've gone down a rabbit hole looking into music printing and will probably wind up buying a book on the subject...! Always good to learn a bit more. Thanks for the inspiration!
