Hi Adam, thanks for your videos, theyre really helpful, and thanks nord for meshnet feature. I have a question: does meshnet traffic routing utilize more CPU or more memory? Just wondering why a Pi5 would be better than Pi2W you said in the video. Thanks!

Just a heads up the using your dedicated end point screen may be different for android / IOS. On Android once routing traffic had been enabled and meshnet setup, have to go to home tab of app and under all connections there is a drop down for "Devices" select this and your device should be visible to connect to. Great service has allowed me to route traffic for me to be able to access my NAS which is on the same raspberry pi as what I am using to route traffic so can work on maintenance and access files with ease!

It is possible to have your home device be connected to a NordVPN server and then route the traffic through it with a device outside of your home network. It is not possible to be connected to a NordVPN server and route your traffic at the same time with one device, however. -AF

this is actually awesome! can you please do one for low powered/thin client windows machines too please ? i seem to experience abysmal speeds despite having 1000mbps down/ 50 mbps upload speed, like can't even sign into a NAS, so must be doing something wrong. Setting up your own wiregaurd VPN to access your home network is just as easy as this video. There is no need to use a commerical VPN for this application.

If you try to measure the speed with speedtest while connected to your home VPN is it the full 50mbps?

@hookey1000, I'm personally a huge fan of thin clients for self hosting, especially if you don't need GPIO pins the RPI provides. We're considering covering more topics related to selfhosting in the future, but can't promise anything specific.

@@Shocker99I assume for people with nonstatic ip from their isp, NordVPN mesh is simpler setup. Essentially if you already have a nord account.
