Norfolk Fire & Rescue Responding: Thetford 'swapped' RP and L1 Misting Unit

Nice Saturday afternoon turnout from Thetford of the #oncallfirefighter responding after alert to a fire in the local area. The RP is running as THEP7 and is borrowed from Diss and will be moved around once new appliances ariive int he coming months.

Norfolk's actually getting new appliances? About time. The newest is nearly 10 years old! (63 plates)

Newest is a 16 plate MAN. Lots of new new are due soon - I cannot wait!

@@mikespotter3536 it's about time. The new service plan for 22/23 stated that no frontline appliance should be over 10 years old.. that's pretty much all the fleet to be replaced then! Any ideas what they're getting?

@@joncommonsjc Angloco New Gen Scania RP’s. 22 in the first batch i think. Should be in the next 2-3 weeks. Further batches of appliances being looked at now for spec / chassis etc.

The Land Rover is a off road vehicles. It is also a misting unit

@@downpatrickemergencyspotter...... it has a line of water outlets under the front bumper and front wings that point down towards the ground. These produce a fine wall of water as the vehicle drives over a vegetation fire or smouldering remnants of one. It’s almost like a mist, hence Misting Unit.

They stopped in traffic so probably just lack of blue light trained drivers so no blues is better than nothing
