Apparently were 16T hit a tractor-trailer at 11AM. The first engine (don't know the number) was damaged and had to get 127 to give them an engine which put 127 over their tonnage. I wonder if this is the train that had the problem. (Info from Train111 on the Jonesborough Virtual Railfan website.)

Groovy man! Excellent catch and I like it when the crews can interact with each other as the trains pass by.

Absolutely love the idle and throttle up of those GEs, but prefer the 710G of EMD

Where, exactly, did you film this? I.E., Street? I'm thinking it was more towards Sand Valley and Telford because that's where the double tracks are. Also, can you tell approximately what time you filmed this? Thanks. At the 10:23 mark, the train's definitely crossing Telford Road. Excellent video BTW.

It was filmed at Mill St next to the Telford Diner. I titled it Jonesborough just because more people know Jonesborough than Telford. And it was filmed at 10:30 AM on November 10th.

Isn’t the conductor of the stopped train supposed to give the passing train a roll by inspection? Just thought it was weird they didn’t… Thanx
@Automax2323Ай бұрын
I can tell you exactly why this happened, because I used to do the exact same thing at times. Same as many Conductors on railroads. I was a Conductor on BNSF for almost 14 years. The reason he got down was just in case a Road Foreman/Superintendent was out riding the train, basically doing a field ops test. And the Loco Cam (camera) can also catch that we’re not on the ground as the lead Locomotive is passing. Once the lead Locomotives pass, the eyes are gone. So, you go back inside the Locomotive where it’s warm or cooler depending on the season. Sometimes just to get out of the rain. True, you can do a roll by from inside the Locomotive. But, you have better sight/sound to catch something when done from the ground. I’ve sat in sidings for long periods of time, one train after the next passing and you get burned out from up and down, in and out. Especially late at night when you’re dead tired. Railroading is very dangerous, I’ve seen brake shoes fly off from passing trains. A piece of scrap metal drop from an over loaded Gondola. Don’t get me started on Corn bouncing from a passing grain train, they sting if you get hit by one. Lastly I’ll say this, I’d rather be on the ground vs being inside the Locomotive if a derailment occurs from a passing train. But I get why he got down, then went back inside. To each their own.
