I am a Texas Southern Alumnus and Norfolk State University performance was off the charts. Their field and stadium show was a real treat. I am glad they made the long trip and hope they continue to represent in H-Town!

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!!!!!!! 😢😢😢 THEY'RE SO BEAUTIFUL 😭😭😭😭. I MARCHED FOR HENRICO HIGH SCHOOL 2006- 2010 At one point they was calling us Lil NSU. NSU has always been the Gold Standard for HBCU Bands. Southern Bands will never admit it though and I NEVER EVER HEARD ANY BAND PLAY 50 CENT MANY MEN. THAT WAS A PERFECT EXIT. NOBODY CAN TOUCH VA BANDS PERIOD

And I'm not being bias when I say that because I was in the Ocean of Soul marching band b4 I transferred to the Marching 100 and I never knew Norfolk was bringing it like this, my goodness, I'm a fan now💯✊🏾 and I didn't know you mentioned Southern in your response but neither Southern or Jackson State can stand toe to toe with Norfolk because they don't play with clarity, I can't recognize their songs they just blow loud. But Norfolk arrangements you knew what they were playing and then they have the SOUND TO back it up oweeeeeee💥

I am proud to have been a member of the Norfolk State University Spartan Band 1961 - 1965. The Chief ( Mr. Emery Fears ) must be looking down from heaven and saying " Behold the Green and Gold " the band is in good hands and the pursuit of perfection is still driving the Spartans to the pinnacle of excellence. WOW what a performance !!!!

I’m a trumpet player. I’m impressed. In August the are performing and sounding like it’s thanksgiving. I love these guys and Southern and Florida A&M. Trombones sing. Trumpets punch and tubas sound like a bass guitar and the arranger is a bad ass

It's very difficult to decide which band is the best but Norfolk was number one. They were on point meaning they didn't make no mistakes at all. Not just the band was great but the flag women & flag me along with the dancing ladies. It should have been decided which band was second & third because the Spartans were the best in this contest.
