Noriko's Vlog: Cold Miso Soup and Cold Ramen

It's been so hot this summer, hasn't it?! I've been having heat problem day and night. San Diego is so humid lately, and I can't stand that. Not only that, I'm having temperature problem of my own body...going through menopause. To cope with that, I tried to cook something cold like cold Miso Soup called Hiyajiru and cold Ramen called Hiyashi Chuka. They were nice and good, but ultimate coldness came from outside my house...
In this vlog series, I'm showing you what I eat in a day. I also cook, clean, and shop, adding my comments along the way, with occasional appearances by our family dog, Daisy (rat terrier). What I'm really hoping here is to bring uplifting and calming feelings to your day through my videos.

今年の夏、暑くないですか？！朝も晩も暑くてたまりません。サンディエゴは最近異常に湿気もあるし。。それだけでなく、自分の体の温度調節もあまりうまくいってなくて。。更年期ですかね。なので、冷んやりした食べ物を作ってみました。冷汁と冷やし中華。冷たくて美味しかったんですが、もっと冷たくて美味しいものはうちの外にありました。。

It is nice to see you too, this morning. I admire your attitude about age. Look at getting older as a journey, the journey that is life. There will be boring or difficult parts but that is all part of the experience and you would not be the person you are without them. @@OishiiTV I have had my close contact with my own mortality in 2014 due to a nasty virus infection and that have change my outlook on life. Combine that with the loss of my brother this summer due to liver cancer and you get a man that are both humble and thankful for the days i experience. Carpe Diem dear Noriko.

Thank you for sharing your story, Rider san. I'm sorry about your brother...🙏 When you know sorrows of life, you become kinder and more considerate to the others. My mother always told me when growing up. And that's exactly who you are.

I had never heard of cold miso soup before. Looks really good. We get very humid here in Chicago, particularly in the summer but not limited to that. I find that I stand a better chance of getting good healthy food in us if I prepare things in the morning before the heat of the day. I do things in waves, some of this or that and having it all done over a couple days. I have already done the menopause thing and the only thing to do is live through it. Sometimes your gynecologist has some tips, but mostly, keep a fan handy and wear layers. And apply ice cream as needed!

Thank you for the great tips❣️ More often than sometimes I'm pretty lazy in the morning, but it is a good idea to start early to get some stuff done before it gets too hot in the afternoon. A fan handy and wear layers, check check, I can't agree more.😊 And of course, apply ice cream when things get bad.😆😉
