One of the VERY RARE vocalists who can jam the songs on an instrument/can write with the band. Props

You's be surprised to find out lots of vocalists can jam with their bands. To name just three of the top of my head I would say Josh Scogin (OG vocalist of Norma Jean, The Chariot, '68). Spencer Chamberlin (Underoath) wrote the intro riff to In Regards to Myself and more, and Anthony Green (Circa Survive and The Sound of Animals Fighting) is a solid guitar player/writer. Now I will say a lot of vocalist start out knowing very little about playing a guitar or other instruments but by traveling across the country they tend to learn how to play it.

Really not so rare lol A lot of vocalists play instruments and write songs but choose to focus solely on their vocal performance in a band setting. It's pretty common.

Been a fan since Bless the Martyr, seen them a few times, and got to pre-game at a bar with Cory, then stand and jump around with them at a small show, helped them load their stuff in their van, after partied at my local pub, then after-after partied with them at the house they were crashing at and it was the best night of my life even 10 years later. The line up has changed since but Cory and the guys are just the chillest, most humble, appreciative and sincere guys. I got a tattoo of their unofficial symbol from O God the Aftermath and we all compared our same tats and they were so stoked and listened to me tell them how much their music has touched my life and MY GOD i love these guys. Past and present. Long live the Almighty Norma Jean.

That's so fucking awesome, dude. I've been listening to them since I was 15 (30 now) and I finally got to see them for their Redeemer anniversary tour. Hearing A Small Spark Vs A Great Forest live, with the whole band dropping out and the crowd screaming "FIGHT FAIR" will probably be one of my top favorite concert moments of all time.

Redeemer is my favorite record by NJ and my third favorite record in my life. Polar Similar is nearly behind. After that, Meridional, Wrongdoers and Anti-Mother. Cory Brandan, favorite vocalist in genre. I wanna say, how much i love Norma Jean spirit sound. I saw one comment on metalsucks page, who wrote something like...NJ without Joshua doesnt have any heart. Did people know, that Goose recorded every cymbal from his drum kit separately for Wrongdoers? And that every album is recorded live? There is no vocalist, beside Cory and Keith Buckley, where i can hear so many emotions in their broken voices. All Hail is one of the reasons, why i am glad, to be alive. I cant express by words, how much i love this kind of music.
