Downtown has really changed over the years, and has made so many great improvements. I love the live music on Fremont and all the gorgeous murals. I hope your throat didn't get too sore from trying to talk over that loud fun crowd. You do such a great job covering all the fun spots in the area, and showing me some fun new places to check out. @Brenda Potter - I visit Vegas once a month from California, and I can honestly say that I prefer to stay in Downtown Vegas than on the Strip!

@@kevinp8108 I love the strip and Downtown, but prefer to stay at hotels that are away from both. I love staying at Green Valley Ranch, The M Resort, South Point, Suncoast, and Red Rock. One of these days I want to stay at the JW Marriott, it looks fabulous. Going to the Strip and Downtown are always a must for me, but I also want to just relax and enjoy the calmness that these resorts offer. It saves me a ton of money on food too. Viva Las Vegas!!!

Also for accuracy, the Glitter Gulch topless club was NEXT to The Las Vegas Club and was operating all the way up to the demolition date for Circa. There was also Mermaids on the other side.

So what did I learn from this video? Well didn't learn but reaffirmed the knowledge of how much Miss Norma loves pizza! I disagree about BBQ and pizza. Hi Norma-Your videos never disappoint. I had three lady friends that worked in the reservation office for many years-(Linda Ridgley, Carol Edwards, and Patricia) in the late 1990’s-Mid 2000’s in the Las Vegas Club. I was friendly with the late Jackie Gaughan, who lived on the top floor suite at El Cortez. Downtown, with all the new restaurants/pizza places, and the Circa, and the redone D casino, is a must for tourists.

Yeah, walking from Downtown to The Strip. Did that once. We thought we were at the bus stop and the bus never arrived. I saw the Stratosphere and thought that it wasn't that far away. So we walked it. This was in the middle of September during a late afternoon. It turns out that the Strat only looks close.

@@davidleinoff8589 I honestly didn't think the walk was that bad. It was hot, but not super hot. I walked a lot in those days and I lived in a very hilly area, so a flat walk was always nice. Certainly not the best part of town, and not a place one would want to spend a vacation, but I really didn't feel unsafe. If I lived in Vegas, I would think of that as a nice walk. The walk took about 40 minutes, which is not much longer than taking the Deuce if there's traffic. If the weather wasn't so hot, then I might be willing to do it again. When we got to the Stratosphere (before the name change), we spoke with a local at the sports book and he thought we were crazy for doing that. Maybe we were.

My favorite hidden gem not mentioned is the courtyard at the Gold Spike where you will find incredible murals, oversized yard chess corn hole, and a crowd playing beer pong with giant barrels and a basketball. Otherwise, you covered everything I loved!

I actually love Downtown Vegas. First off I want to thank you for telling me what that door with all the stickers is. My brother and I knew something special was there. Now... yes Downtown sometimes gets a bad rap, but there is a lot of things to do there. Shout out to The Donut Bar, Toy Shack , The Underground, Nightmare Toys, El Cortez Casino, Rogue Toys, Ichiban Sushi .

I'm not saying this is WHY you have to get a security guard to escort you in, but back about 15 years ago I was in there and a group of ladies walked in while I was... You know... Admiring the wall. For some reason THEY got upset over this - I honestly didn't care - and reported ME to security. Obviously I didn't get in any trouble, I was using the facilities as they were intended. However, shortly after they started requiring an escort for ladies in there. So who knows? That might be my fault. ;)
