Mine has been up to 180 with a Tachycardia episode. Last time I walked myself over to the emergency room and they gave me medicine in an IV that stopped my heart for a second and restarts it. The doctor sat at the end of my bed and said, "This is going to be fun.". He must really like to see this medicine work. It works..but I feel really tired and weak for a few weeks after. I guess you could say.. I flat-line for a few seconds. Kinda creepy when you think about it. It felt like the the veins in my arms and upper legs were closing off, like a tight blood pressure cuff on them. It was slightly painful but not unbearable.

Patrick Bateman According to some sources marijuana can increase your heartrate and blood pressure but it's not necessarily harmful in the general population, only if you've had heart problems in the past. I've had heart problems in the past (irregular rhythm, very slow and high resting bpm, pericarditis -- which is an autoimmune infection of the fluid sac surrounding the heart), and I still do fine with marijuana. Sometimes I get palpitations but my rhythm has still showed up as overall normal on an EKG even when that's happening. It feels scary, but it's more common and benign than you might think. Something like 1 in 5 people regularly get palpitations.

That's not actually tried and true. A lot of medications easily change your heart rate, especially if they're on the stimulant side of things. On Modafinil, my heartrate could regularly be 100-110bpm. On Wellbutrin, my heartrate is generally 80-100bpm, usually 85bpm resting, sometimes as low as 74bpm. I am quite physically active, doing heavy cardio 3-4 times a week, 1-3 hours at a time; and am a normal size for my height; 5'8", 150lbs (female), medium frame (wrist circumference of 6.4"). About 25% bodyfat, atm. Before I went on medication, I had an athlete's heart at 46bpm as a competitive figure skater (then I was 5'7", 120lbs, ~19% bf). It never usually went above 68bpm, even as I got older and stopped regular sports (just walking and bike riding). My lowest bpm ever was about 28bpm with an eating disorder. (5'7", 100lbs). I've hit 190's sometimes with exercise, but that's quite normal as I am still under the age of 30.

@@hyperscepthical-end And what was the reason for that? I'm sorry, I am curious because one morning, my mother woke me up quick saying I am late for something, and I got up and did my things fast, and suddenly I felt a strange sensation in my chest. I put my hand on my chest and I felt like my heart was going insane (even tho I didn't do things that make your heart beat 200bps), I couldn't keep track of my bpm (counting them), I started to panic and I felt like I was going to die, like my heart was drowning in blood from beating so fast (I don't know how to describe the feeling). I then checked my blood presure and pulse, and it was 169/75 and 134 bpm (irregular). After that, I kept having episodes with 150 bps and high blood pressure, but its been around one month without them now. I went to ER and they said it was anxiety (but when I had that first episode, I wasn't anxious at all), and the cardiologist said the heart looks healthy (cardiac ultrasound and EKG). To this day, I don't know what was that episode, but it was so scary to feel my heart beating so fast, even my boyfriend got scared just from feeling and hearing my pulse... What was the cause of your episode? If you don't mind me asking. I hope you are okay now!!

Panic attacks happen often as a result of your body releasing adrenaline. Which causes your heart to surge in rate. As a result you start hyperventilating. I used to have them. The best thing is to get comfortable and take long slow breaths it can take a minute but I found it worked every time.
@SleepyNFit Жыл бұрын
Late comment, but ugh, yes, panic attacks are the worst. My heart rate when up to 180 and I genuinely thought I was going to have a heart attack. Dehydration could be a reason your heart rate is high as well I was just at emergency cause of chest pains and my heart rate was 170 n they thought I could have thyroid or heart problems but I was having anxiety which makes me dehydrated
@JermaLover2 жыл бұрын
Have you ruled out POTS to blame for that heart-rate? Because, I got diagnosed with it after getting sick and becoming very dehydrated. My rate would reach 176 when I did as much as sit up from my bed. We went to the hospital and they were insistent that it was just a little bit of anxiety, but, turns out I have POTS.

@@clinsen8576 If you have a healthy heart no but it still puts stress onto the heart. I’ve been curious myself because I am a young 23-year-old who’s very athletic and one night I had five drinks and I was dancing and when I got home I noticed my heart rate was 220 for a couple minutes but most the time if I have a couple drinks it’ll make my heart rate go above 100 I think it has to do with the alcohol

Nope--heart beats as high as 400 had been recorded. Usually this is as a result of certain drug usage or another underlying heart condition

It would lead to one definitely. I don't have tachycardia or know anyone who does, but I'm guessing this lasts for a short time.

xFictionAficionadax Even 100-120 is considered as tachycardia.
@carolyne8037 жыл бұрын
Actually, the highest ever recorded heart rate in a human was 600. It was a 57 year old male quadrepeligic having issues with tachycardia. His heart rate was 300bpm with spurts of 600. He needed to have a stent put in. You can find the study online if you look for it; his medical file was logged in a journal of medicine. They compared it to the heartrate of a mouse.

WAKEUP!! i had screenshots of the heart rate but it got deleted bcus i lost my old phone but my heart was really beating that fast. Either my heart is just very resilient or im just very lucky to not have passed out, i personally think its bcus my heart is healthy/resilient. This happnd when i had just turned 18. Im 20 now. I literally dont know why my heart was beating that fast i think it was bcus i was severely dehydrated and i did not know it, so literally after i walked a few blocks my heart was easily 250bpm and it stayed that way for a few hours. it was only at 300bpm for maybe 30 mins to an hour possibly more. Either way i was using an accurate heart monitor and it was going so fast i couldnt track the pulse myself. It was very scary ill say that much. It was also sinus tachycardia.
@ItCarrysAFEEL8 жыл бұрын
WAKEUP!! Good thing now is i can actually control my own heartbeat or heart rate now. Back then i wasnt able to. If i want my heart to slow all the way down from lets say 120 bpm instantly all the way down to 60bpm, all i gotta do is focus on my heart and it will give off a huge beat, then immediately slow all the way down. Its pretty cool. Again, part of the reason i didnt pass out or die is because im young and my heart is in top notch condition. Ive had it checked out by one of the best cardiologists in my state. He told me i shouldnt never worry about heart disease if i keep healthy
@joecartier57198 жыл бұрын
I'd think you'd actually pass out when HR reached at rates like 250-300bom due to poor blood flow cause hearts beating inefficiently
