literally today i got to know whatever i read about partial functional dependency was completely wrong... till now what i was knowing is consider FD, Y -> Z i, where Y is any subset of C.K and Z is Non prime attribute, then Y -> Z is partial dependency, which is completely wrong and it was taught by famous educator of xyz institue............Thanks a lot sir for clearing the concept in such a easy manner...

00:50:48 - can be seen as alpha is the candidate key in the relation containing only alpha and beta as attributes for fully dependent FDs, also partial FDs can be seen as super-key that is not candidate key in the relation containing only alpha and beta as attributes.

Thank u so much for clearing out the misconceptions of pfd and ffd. I don't get how those misconceptions arrive in some coaching teachers when concepts are clearly written in standard textbooks.

27:40 PW sir ne bola tha, ki The left-hand side (LHS) and right-hand side (RHS) should not have common attributes in a non-trivial dependency. If they do, it is called a semi-non-trivial dependency. Please verify For example: AB->BC, AB->BCD are semi according to i have studied earlier

Standard Books & Resources don't have such concepts. These are Misconceptions. Must Watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYeulWyoYpiLb9Efeature=shared

Many thanks for this video. I have the following doubt. @15:16 non prime attributes are B and C; The following example has all LHS attributes (A, B and C) are categorized as prime attributes. How? Please clarify. Thank you.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX-Ud5RnmJp-nZo I came here after test series question as someone shared the link. At the given timestamp you said, AB -> C is partial FD as A->C exists. Lets convert FD set to minimal cover new FD will be { A->C }. now there is no partial FD? candidate key is AB. We have removed partial FD then why it not in 2NF? Why it still has partial dependency?
