Story time! Ive always been fit/in shape, so much so that i didnt even notice. Ive always been super active, and my parents got me into various activities over the years between kindergarten and now, an adult- gymnastics, breakdancing, hiphop, circus camp, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track..... a lot of things. But in highschool we they werent making enough money to support me and my sublings in our activites, so it slowed down a lot. The activity i was doing theough school got shut down because of covid, and with everything going on i quickly fell into the worst mental and physical state i had ever been in. It felt.... genuinely awful. I never got covid, but i was surprised by how difficult doing things and living became due to not being so active. My body felt almost sad and gross to be in, yet i couldnt pull myaelf out of it. Couldnt make a routine or pick any workouts to do. Couldnt even make myself go walk the dogs regularly. Then, when the shutdown ended, my mom found a local circus thing. They taught aerial silks, trapeze, aerial rope, hammock, lyra, stilts, juggling, minor acrobatics, handstands..... and it wasnt super expensive to get into, one class a week, for an hour. I chose Aerial silks classes, and it genuinely helped my whole outlook. Just spending one hour a week in the air and working my body helped get me out of the slump. The coaches helped me build a workout progran for home, and ptetty soon i felt confortable in my body again. And all it took was one day out of the week. Doesnt really matter, but just a fun little story to tell to someone i genuinelly appreciate and look up to on the internet, in the hopes he might see it. Not life changing, but it matters to me.
