Nice guitar Mark. I have a '65 ES-335 very similar ...only mine has ALL NICKEL parts/pickups, no chrome on mine. You mentioned 3 big changes in 1965 to the ES-335 model, but actually there were 4 significant changes. Lot's of folks forget about the change from a 17 degree headstock .....to the shallower 14 degree angle that occurred in 1965. Mine has the 17 degree headstock. Can't really tell what your guitar's headstock is. Anyway, there were 4 significant changes in 1965. Thanks again for the great review.

Centaur is the cool place in Portland! Nice of u to shout out. Bought my husbands Squire Strat there, a perfect starter guitar for him. Centaur has the good stuff too. Like this 355, its almost as nice as my 60s Guild Starfire. I prefer the Trapeze like this to the ‘stops’. This has the right nut too! Nice gee-tar!! So tempting, would be a fine mate with my blonde clear maple Guild. Great tone. Lots of bands in the day had these..

@jenniferwhitewolf37846 жыл бұрын
Curtis John Cole It was the right way to make these! In the day, frets were lower too right out of the box. Nice yummy lower frets that you can feel the neck under and not sharp the notes just making a chord. My Guild has zero checking/cracking in the nitro. This would be drop dead stunning if it were still perfect finish. Still desired👍

Hey Mark...no need to make excuses for the trapeze tailpiece on this beautiful 1965 ES-335. Nothin' wrong with the trapeze....in fact I find the trapeze tailpiece adds a fuller - more resonant sound to the ES-335 vs. the stop-tailpiece models. Just consider the additional string length behind the bridge - which consequently loads the guitar's internal maple block via the trapeze tailpiece. You've got much more vibration from the added string length to interact with and add to the resonance of the guitar's body - unlike the stop tailpiece models. It's a complete myth and internet folklore that the trapeze is inferior. All you have to do is plug one in and hear the difference yourself. What you read on the Internet is quite often not true. But hey - thanks for keeping the prices down on these fantastic guitars. Tm

Hi Mark and Jen. my name is Tyler and I am 12 years old. My dad is a subscriber and watches these videos with me. It's his birthday on Straterday and it would be cool if you could shout him out. His name is Greg and he is 55. Also, his back was broken in a car crash when he was 18 so he can't walk or play guitar anymore. His guitars disappeared when he was getting better and he says he hopes they are safe and making good music. one was a 1979 Les Paul Custom in natural and the other was a 1974 SG in polaris white. We have pix and the serial number for the SG so if someone knows about them it would be cool for him. Also dad, if you read this I love you and Happy Birthday.

If you have any unusual Mosrite guitars (not necessarily the Ventures models) that might fit the "Weird-Ass Wednesday" bill good; there are a number of instances where Mosrite just put things together with what they had on hand to get them out the door. I wouldn't say they did this even 5% of the time, Mosrite just have a few anomalies I noticed.
