IMHO Norman was the greatest comedian that we ever produced- Anyone of any age can still watch these movies and you cannot help but laugh- Real humour that is missing from today's sick and sad world- All you need is laughter to make the world a better place!

Norman portrayed the innocence of a child, he was amazing. This clip is filled with wonderful childlike humour, great fun. Norman, "Your asking for it incha." Thanks for the video and for thinking of his fans. From the film: On the Beat.

The greatest comedian this country produced. He could just be standing there doing nothing, and I'd be on the floor in hysterics. Brilliant, Oh yes, and he had a wonderful singing voice RIP Noman, you'll never be forgotten

I wouldn't necessarily say the greatest, given that Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel both came from the UK, and laid the ground for a lot of what was to follow, but he's right up there.

I watched this 18 years ago as a kid I loved the early bird as well such a funny film, I think it's on KZbin somewhere. Norman Wisdom was such a great and loveable comedian and a legend in my eyes and no doubt in the eyes of those who watched him.

Hilarious inoffensive fun. That child-like portrayal of the small man up against authority, blissfully unaware that he's misjudging the gravity of the situation, combined with genuine acting ability is well shown here. If ever I'm down a Norman Wisdom DVD lifts my mood. A nod here to Raymond Huntley and Terence Alexander who are here too. I don't know the actor's name who plays the chauffeur but he's good too.

That's what I love about it. When you consider that Norman didn't have much of a childhood, I can understand that this hilarious sketch was being a kid again. The timing was spot on. His other performances were also hilarious. He never got over his mother leaving and the brutal treatment of his father, who disowned him. He had to sleep rough. It was a great idea for the stallholder who gave him tea and a meat pie, to join the Army. From there he went into showbusiness. His obvious talent was soon recognised. The show that he did with Bruce Forsyth was brilliant. Norman write the script. I have got to say that Norman was the star of the show. He was limited as an insumentalist, regarding repertoire, but played each instrument really well. He was a terrific drummer also, with a natural technique. His singing was superb. ,He was a talented songwriter. "Beware" is an outstanding and lovely song.

Well-known actors did play in this, I mean I see at the end Terence Alexander aka Charlie Hungerford who played from 1981 to 1991 in the Bergerac series and the best thing is that Norman Wisdom also played in one of those Bergerac episodes , very surprising.

Yes, plenty of well-known (and not-yet well-known) faces in Norman's films. Michael Caine and Oliver Reed crop up in "The Bulldog Breed"! Future Avenger and Bond Girl Honor Blackman is in "The Square Peg". Frank Williams (The Vicar in "Dad's Army") crops up in three Wisdom films - "The Bulldog Breed", "The Square Peg" and "A Stitch in Time". Fellow Dad's Army actor John le Mesurier is in "The Early Bird" and John's former wife Hattie Jacques (of "Carry on" and "Sykes" fame) is in "The Square Peg".

Yes, I felt Lee was at his best doing slapstick work. His expletive-heavy stand-up work (which Norman would never have done) wasn't my cup of tea at all.

For me in a Wisdom film the character performers are the meat to his gravy so lets have a clap here for John Bluthal as the chauffeur, Terence Alexander as the inspector and Raymond Huntley as the commissioner. Great character actors all of `em.

Absolutely, not forgetting Eddie Leslie (co-writer and supporting actor), Jerry Desmonde, Edward Chapman, David Lodge and Lana Morris.
