Sir Norman Wisdom was one of the funniest comedians I've seen. Along with his comedy, stunts, acting and singing he had a warm affectionate personality. His specialty in doing all of his falls was quite remarkable. My 76 years have been enriched by seeing his work. Thank you Norman. RIP.

I remember seeing this as a child and as with many of his films, everyone was in fits of laughter. In later life, I saw him at the Cliffs Pavillion, Westcliff. He would have been about 75 and was throwing himself around and making everyone laugh. Afterwards, he signed autographs for anyone that wanted one at the stage door and also posed for photographs. A gentleman. He even did his 'trip' when he was Knighted by Her Majesty, The Queen.

Even when he was in a nursing home with dementia and could no longer recognise himself in his films, he terrified the nursing staff by deliberately falling down the stairs to entertain the other residents!

I love these types of scenes where the audience thinks all the chaos is all part of the act

RIP ...reminds me of my childhood ...what he is saying he means this is a lie , none of players of instruments is really obeying conductor's hand movements...of course it is just symbolic ...if really they were watching his hand movements, this is what would have happened !!
