I put this old footage together from several years ago so it's not the best. Normandy is a northern region in France and the location of one of the most famous battles in WWII. There are many locations but this tour consisted of Arromanches, Longues Sur Mer, Normandy American Cemetery and Pointe Du Hoc. This tour was informative, historical and very much emotional. I recommend anyone who can afford or who is abled bodied to tour this area.

I know what you mean about the parking lot at the beach, I thought the same, but then I remembered how it makes it accessible for the disabled but all the elderly D Day veterans and their loved ones must come there. So a small parking lot is okay if it gives those people access.

You title this video "Normandy D-Day Tour," then go on to show the American Cemetery with the words "This is what most people think when they think of Normandy." I hate to disabuse you, but what you really mean is "most Americans," for no-one that I know thinks as you say, but that's probably because they are not Americans!! It may be hard for you to believe, but not everyone is obsessed by the US involvement in WW2. This is not a D-Day tour per se, especially as your focus was mainly on Omaha and Utah Beaches, but D-Day - and Normandy as a whole - was an Allied zone that involved British, Canadian and French Forces on the ground, not just Americans. So where in this "tour" was there any mention of Allied troops, British, Canadian or French Cemeteries? So this was a tour purely of Omaha and Utah, in which case you have given a false title and a false impression. By its title and the video itself, you dishonour those Allied troops who fought their way to defeat an enemy and bring freedom to a whole nation. While nobody could deny the American involvement or discredit them in any way, that is precisely what you have done in glorifying your own troops and ignoring the sacrifices of others. You claim that you were a serviceman in the US forces, so you should be ashamed in giving no place to others from outside your own country who also sacrificed themselves on the same ground. If you wanted to show a video of Omaha and Utah, you should have given the proper title e.g. "A tour of the US zones on D-Day," or something similar. It's little wonder that non-Americans have such a bad opinion of the US and their myopic self-glorification.

The audience no doubt is American. So appreciate the effort it takes to sustain attention much less inform. The British, Australian and Canadian forces certainly deserve recognition. Although a challenge and unsettling to appreciate, the Soviets contributed mightily by forcing the Germans to split their attention. Am sure the French spilled hot coffee on a few Germans along the way.

@@sw8963 I'm sorry to disabuse you, but everything does not revolve around America, and YT is an international platform; what you get in the US we also get in the UK and in most other countries. Here in the UK many of the Advetisements on YT are American, as are many of the uploads - but there are still thousands of British uploads as well - so all are easily accessible. What the rest of your post is about has nothing to do with my observation/complaint. If you produce a programme that covers an event - let's call it the Kentucky Derby - what might you expect to see? I would expect a multitude of racehorses and riders, and perhaps some parts of the race, and therefore it covers the event. What I would not expect is to see or hear is a story about a single horse or rider, and nothing whatsoever about the Kentucky Derby or any other horse and rider. The Normandy invasion (and in this case titled "Normandy Tour) involved British, Canadian, French and Germans in the greatest sea-and airborne invasion in history; but here, it's purely all about the Americans - and the rest of Normandy, apart from the American sector - was just not there! It's been falsely titled to gain viewing figures. If the producers intended to focus entirely on the Americans, he should have titled it "The American forces on D-Day" or something similar. That way the viewer is in no doubt about the content. In the wider context (as I am a military historian), I have an interest in all the forces and details of what took place, but when I give talks or take groups on tours, they know from the outset what to expect, for I don't promote one thing and give something different, which is what this video has done. I've watched many American-made videos on military matters, and almost every one of them do the same thing - promote the Americans at Omaha, biut call it the Battle for Normandy, or some other grandiose title that's completely false. The reason is very simple: The Americans love to glorify themselves, but give no credit to anyone else. It's also a common factor in most of those videos, that the information put out is hyped to make the American forces look as though all of the achievements gained where solely American...but that's another plethora of false information and story-telling!
