Mark should have played this whilst wearing his leather jacket, just to give all the zipper-bitches a fucking embolism.
@mikeymojo82996 жыл бұрын
Niq Scott ya yes, that would have been great. That guitar is simply a gem, exquisite.
@johna11606 жыл бұрын
Join me fellow players in a fervent prayer that this absolute gem of a guitar doesn't end up locked inside a display case (like countless others) unplayed. First time I've ever heard an acoustic "break up" from shear volume. And when tickled, every single note is clear and distinct. The high water mark of steel six string acoustic.
@timothycormier34946 жыл бұрын
John A it won’t. Joe bonamassa prob already bought it.

That guitar is 2 years older than me, I am 74. It would be interesting to know the original sale price back in 1941. What an amazing instrument. Thanks Mark. Hi Jen :-)
@acarlovonsexron19946 жыл бұрын
I might be wrong, but not counting custom work, $200. At least that's where a lot of the early Gibsons got their numerical value.
@philipboug6 жыл бұрын
Carlo Von Sexron Wow... I did not know that. Thanks Carlo.
@acarlovonsexron19946 жыл бұрын
Like I said, I might be wrong for the SJ, but certainly some of those early Gibsons had their numbers assigned according to their respective list price. For instance, originally a Super 400 was $400, but an ES-335, according to Wikipedia, was $267.50 in 1958. Go figure.
@philipboug6 жыл бұрын
At least it gives ballpark figures. $400 was a lot of money way back then. And in 1958 I was high school kid playing a beat up nylon string Spanish that I bought for $5:00... A 335 was just an impossible dream. Just like this beautiful 200 is now. What is interesting is that I can buy a new 200 for what... $4500..? Is the "collectabilty" of this one really worth $120,000 more? Norm and Mark would say "Of course"... LOL

Wow, what a big sound that guitar has. I prefer the way the Martins sound (the one last week was to die for), but it’s a personal preference. For 1960’s-70’s folk and country/western this Gibson is perfect.

my ear tells me those strings are brand new. and they are being played on the best sounding acoustic guitar i ever heard. every string is distinct no matter which chord is strummed. if that isn't your most expensive acoustic- it should be.

God-damn!!!! Just when you think you've seen enough Gibsons......this comes at ya. Still wouldn't mind seeing a vintage Recording King though.
What does Gibson call the standard inlay fretboard markers on this? Are they crowns or clouds? Also, what strings are on that? They sound overly bright for that guitar. I'm guessing that axe has an asking price in the upper five figures. Amazing.
