Love your youtube channel. I have one request. Can you do a feature about short scale guitars, like Byrdlands and other gutars that are aprox 23" to 24" or something like that.

...congrats Norm on a great series of vids!, just catching up on them, but, did end up binge watching the complete group. Given the current state of the industry, and, your what I would assume is a vast network and knowledge base gained over 50+ years, where do you think the industry is headed, and what impact does Gibson's future have on it?.....

They made so few 1967 Strats because they made so many guitars in 1966. First year post- CBS. They did not start production till mid-1967.

My question is for Mark Agnesi. Which is the best vintage strat that you have ever played in the store? What year and why?

Hi Norm, I know you don't work for Fender but why can't the customshop boys in Corona get the correct curve behind the nut on the 59-62 slab boards, the boys in Japan do it just fine & at a fraction of the price !!!, love the show btw, thanks, Peace.

Are the best sounding guitars typically the ones that are played and worn over the years, or can a clean one sound just as good?

i have a 1978 Carvin DC-150 and am now freaking out thinking that my pick guard will deteriorate and possible cause finish damage. Thinking about taking it off and putting it in a plastic bag. Your thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

what fender amps from the 60s and 70s are more valuable the sliverface styles or the blackface ones?

Would my red 20th anniversary 74 Les Paul custom be worth less to have my broken neck that was repaired 15yrs ago successfully be replaced with a Gibson black custom neck like Marc Bolan did and Gibson made a reproduction of that same guitar.

Obviously you specialize in vintage american instruments, but over the years Im sure you have seen and heard and played many different guitars from many different manufacturers.so i was wondering if you might be able to help me find some information about a japaness guitar. I have a japanese copy of a gibson dove which i beleive falls into the catagory of the japanese lawsuit guitars. my guitar is an Alcivar W-65BK. is a black with white binding ,spruce top, maple back and sides ,split paralellogram inlays ,tuneomatic bridge .and a hard v neck with a gibson shaped headstock. It is a solid well made guitar with a big sweet loud bassy tone and i love it.i wish i could find another just like it. ive had sound guys and other musicians complement me on the tone and volume. my question is have you ever heard of the Alcivar brand or do you know anyone who might know anything about it? I dont really know anything about the company for certain but it appears to be a brand name that was marketed in Canada in the late 70s early 80s .Someone told me somewhere online that it may have been a brand made by the Ibanez company but ive not been able to verify that. beside my acoustic i have seen the Alcivar name on a dobro(i would have bought if i could have) and on strat and explorer copies. now that they fall into the vintage catagory too how do you feel about those lawsuit guitars ?

Does anybody know what's the name for that fretboard design at the heel on the Byrdland? Where it forms a point and is bound as well? Been looking for it name and can't seem to find it...

Good Question !-Don't know if there IS an official term....have heard it reffered to as a 'lip' or drop-point end ...Gruhn's guide has it as "pointed-end..Cheers, N
