At 00.04, thats Welbeck on the left, originally called St Johns Yard, which had its own railway system through to Eastmoor. On the right at 00.28 is the base of Goose Hill Junction Signal Box

Hi Luke, thank you for the information, by the looks of the photograph you won't remember the station there, though the footpath is still there to the station, we used to stop at Altofts, the last train on a night used to be pretty full with people coming home after a day at the greyhound track. Enjoy the weather and behave.

What a Gem, i travel that line most days to work on the KWVR and certainly remember the old layout at Leeds. Did i hear the driver whistling the ITN news theame? If so take a look at my video Multiple Madness and i think it might bring a smile to your face!

Is it still 75mph through Normanton in this direction? Doesn’t feel like it. Normanton needs a full and complete upgrade. The track layout is hideous, dog-legged and slow. Why was the MML shut when so much of it was still needed for coal and sand trains? Absolutely crazy.

They said because of subsidence it was too costly to maintain and had many temporary speed restrictions. It was still a faster better route to me though

@@cedarcam Bloody accountants yet again! They never do the railway any favours!

@@nigelkthomas9501 Nothing changes up here does it. The Northern power house Ha believe when I see it They closed this line and Woodhead both well used lines and left us with poor alternatives but will they upgrade what we have been left with No.

Luke, I lived the first 10 years of my life there. But when West Riding pit closed we had to move. I still look out stuff on KZbin though. I am still a Yorkshireman.
