Ive been watching your channel for some time now. The content is great and your work is amazing. 6k subs seems low for the quality you bring to the hobby. Hopefully 10K is right around the corner for you. Happy New Year.

Congratulations Norm, with content like yours you should be killing it on Subs!! I'm an HO modeler, specifically Conrail but I love seeing those those Decapods, Mike's and especially those PAs roll thru a scene, being born in 65 I just missed the end of those PAs, FAs and F units being run on a regular basis!!!

It's rather refreshing to see this period modelled, in O gauge too, large steam locos with long trains of a bye-gone age, wonderful!

hoping you have some how to footage of painting your backdrops. love the dark blue, light blue, whites melding together but the sky allows the other folliage, buildings, trains to shine thru. Recollect you hung masonite, taped & mud it, did a grey or black primer then blues. did you airbrush to get that...sponges to get the clouds. Definetly would appreciated a video with detail how to on your skies.

As a former Pennsy modeler, I eat this stuff up. Your work captures Pennsy in a way that I don't think anyone else's does. If I had it all to start again (and a bigger basement), I'd seriously consider doing 3-rail this way! I'm always excited to see that you've posted another video. Excellent, excellent work!

Another excellent video, Norm! The sound is great too, heard this on headphones and it was even better that way. I think a few of your subs might be from my recommending your work to others. I always pass along the good stuff I find, and this is the finest 3-rail layout I've ever seen on video. I especially love the concrete work around 14:41, that's some of the best modeling for concrete slabs I've ever seen

Guess what I got Norm Lionel's 1990s 1st scale model of the Alco PA with A-B-A set in the colors of the Denver & Rio Grande with 15' in aluminum cars of the California Zephyr. I have a Lionel PWC series Western Pacific F3 A-B-A set that can pull the train and make it prototypical just like how the real Zephyr is handled. The only engine I'm missing is a Lionel Burlington Route F unit.

The ALCO PAs in freight service were a bit of a surprise. Will you run the centipedes again sometime? I prefer steam, but everything on your layout is top notch. This was a great Happy New Year to everyone. I can't get over the detail including wheel revolutions to chuffs, something I just learned from you recently. I was watching that as you went in and out of the roundhouse. Something I never would have noticed before. Also, the classification lights turned off. Two things I've learned from Norm's Trains. Thanks.

Your weathering, both the engines and the cars, seems I'm watching the real stuff. Please do some how to's, starting with a simpler box car or tanker. Few creators do such weathering tutorials and you are gifted. Please think about my suggestion. Ogauge rolling stock has become very expensive, so we need some mentoring in detail, usually unavailable

Amazing video as always. So in 2021 you achieved what most model railroaders dream of - a completely finished layout. Where does one go from here? I see emply space in your basement. Perhaps an expansion with a longer mainline and more relaxed curves?
@normstrains2 жыл бұрын
I would love larger curves and off-layout staging. I have a few designs doodled but not ready to pursue it for a while.

God your layout has to be one of my favorites I've ever seen! I'm curious, with such an immaculate attention to detail you have on your layout, why is it your engines don't have any steam effects? Is it not offered on the engines you have or is there some other reason? Either way, your layout is stunning! Great work!
