excellent rendition and to glehna, even the solo from madz same din yung rendition ng solo. you can search it. ii think ur comment na parang pinaglalaruan is too far fetched. watch din glong ngo ko from smmc, the girl solist there intentionally changed her voice to sound like an old woman's kasi priestess siya don. not everything has to be aesthetically pleasing. me context po ang pagchange ng voice.

changing arrangements is common too pinagaaralan. you'll be surprised that a lot of the choral pieces are not in their original raw form, areangements are made for better interpretations. may i ask if you are new to listening to choral performances.

@112808638322972043184 Indeed it is a great rendition. I agree that the variations they made did good but I understand the sentiment of the people who speak the dialect. Interpretation of a song is not the issue here. The issue is the pronunciation of the words that affects the message of the song, thus, its impact on the understanding of the real message of the song-. Let's put it this way, when you sing an English song and you pronounce the word "reach" (long E) as "rich" (Short I), it changes the meaning of the song. When you watch Leah Salonga in The Voice, pronunciation is a crucial point of criticism for her. So in any cover or rendition of a song that is foreign to a group/singer/act,it is imperative and incumbent upon the group/singer/act to study the pronunciation of the words in the song. UP Madz was given the same criticism when they performed a foreign song in Europe and one cannot say that Europeans should go soft in passing judgment on Madz because it is not their native tongue. There's the rub. Why sing a song you can never give justice to? Madz won the European Grand Prix, eventually, because they performed flawlessly (in interpretation, musicality, and pronunciation).

You have valid arguments but, personally, I wouldn't go that far but simply enjoy the music.

@@yvesordonio Hold on. I never said you didn't enjoy the music nor you were here to spoil the fun. Most of us mere mortals can't "dissect" music, as simple as that. Did i hit a nerve?

I appreciate the effort but I think the solo version does not sound Cordillera. Kindly review the original salidummay songs. Ang sama kasing pakinggan, parang pinaglalaruan. Maraming variations and salidummay depende sa tribe na kumakanta pero same lang ang attack kasi un ang tatak nila.
