Noro Striped Scarf - Combined Two Strand Cast On Method

Thanks for the video. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this seems very much like a two-color long tail cast on that you’d use for starting double knitting, except of course that you’re only using one yarn.

Great video, very clear and helpful! I know this is a couple years after you posted this, but hopefully you'll see this! Intriguing cast on; I found it looking for ideas on the best way to cast on for the Noro scarf, as I'm finally going to make myself one. My question: does this cast on count as the first row of stitches? So the next row would actually be Row 2? Thanks!

mezzodolce I have the exact same question! It’s really unclear in her video, because at 3:48 when she ends the cast on and starts what you think would be Row 1, she slips the first knit stitch. This makes no sense for the Noro Striped Scarf pattern. I realize this comment is 8 years old, but do you remember what you ended up doing for the cast on?
