In german Carthage spells Kartago, first time I’m hearing the English word. That said I like Kartago more, gives it more Charaktere :D but I am obviously biased

should never let romans throw pila at hoplites especially when most of yuor troops are militia hoplites. Sysracuse should already have a barracks to pump of hoplites.

Same question lol. To catch them before they can throw pila, you need to charge them. To charge them, you need to be out of phalanx formation.

@@Norovo Charge and at the last second drop the phalanx, they should halt/slow down in the last few meters, drop the spears and then you are in amongst them, you can also bait out pila with skirmishers, use them as fodder in your armies facing Rome Also wanted to ask why you didnt defend the walls in Syracuse? Without their ram they couldnt use cavalry or elephants and their range would barely be able to harm your hoplites on the walls whilst being in range of your own towers Like the way you play though, not just exploit after exploit like everyone else plays

@George Burch Annoyingly Remastered has changed the phalanx hotkey to Alt + some other key (and it can't be changed) so it makes last minute phalanx switches that little bit less comfortable. On the Syracuse thing, it's a while since I edited this but they did have a ram I thought? Didn't it get destroyed on their way in? So the safe deployment option was in the square.

@@Norovo Yeah so the ram being destroyed was a good bet because of the city defences, deploying on the walls to protect the gate was fine, can always fall back to the square is anything goes wrong, city walls provide chokepoints, protection from arrows and limited access through/over them so always good to use them, could have made half their army useless

Not that your pronunciation was bad (and I know that these videos are record in quite some advance anyway) but 'Nicomedia' is pronounced 'Nikka-media', just like the word 'media'.
