Sweden and Norway's secret to have an amazing song selection and be successful in ESC: Get the good artists and song writers WANT to take part. Make it a win-win situation for the song writers and artists. Make it the biggest music scene in the country. Celebrate (dont ridicule) the losers, and also encourage the national selection winners who go to ESC and flop - make them iconic and famous local singers anyway. Try to create a situation where MGP or ESC participation can't ruin anyone's career. Why silly and humorous acts like TuVeia in Norway or Eva&Ewa in Sweden who have no chance of winning? Because it's the most watched program, and participation gives promotion and publicity and enables their crowd to find them, and they can take off from there.

Yes 🙌 its really amazing what NRK have been able to create. It is something that kids gets exposed to and continue the tradition with there kids, it’s become a place where established atists meet have a good time and also give all the have to win, because the winner is idolized. songwriters and artists alike get credits, and remember almost all the established artists and songwriters in the music industry in Norway 🇳🇴 have grown up with MGP and it has never been about ridicule artists they believe in the MGP concept and the love ❤️ for music 🎵 it is supposed to bring.
