Its a nice railway that, very charming. Its a shame there are no 18" gauge steam loco's about or it would be perfect in every way :)

Bakedbeanishdragon: According to Wikipedia, the sloping tracks are for a (possibly disused) waterchute, and the pillars are from a (definitely disused) cable car system. Sadly much of the north side of Scarborough is run down or derelict.

I have a photo of this watershute taken by my mum when it was first made, about late 1930's also North bathing pool, but had small boats on it may be pedal boats, have loved little train since I was about 6, have a photo by the railings, peasholm park Stnc, we always shouted as we went under bridges, oh happy days at thebeach hut

also, at 3:37, you start to see pillars that look like cable car tracks. do you know what they are?
