Just wanted to share a quick personal note with everyone. Jami was a bit more difficult than normal during this video. Come to find out after, he was becoming extremely sad about us having to head home the morning after filming this one. He was struggling with his emotions! Im glad you guys are enjoying these North Carolina videos! We sure had fun making them!

Interesting video, with the exception of the boiled peanuts and pickled okra, these foods were all new to me. You and your family are teaching me alot! 👍☺

Glad you guys liked the pickled okra! I am addicted to the "Talk O" Texas Pickled Okra"! I get it at Walmart even in Oregon. I can eat the while jar at once. That's probably way too much salt in one day but omg they are good!
@beekellee8414 жыл бұрын
Same here, I get that brand all the time here at Kroger. I can eat it with everything, or by itself!😋

Nice to see you guys try all these local products.. well... 3 out of 4. Lol Jaimie should start his own channel where he doesn't review food. I'd sub. :) Hopefully he will learn to try more things as he gets older. My nephew used to be that way, but he has opened up more as he got older. Great job as always fam.

our local walmart sells the boiled peanuts. i have never tried any, they dont sound appetizing. i havent tried pickled okra, i had only had it breaded in the cornmeal and fried. i have tried pickled asparagus, thats good. the rest of your food looked tasty.

Its all mind over matter. Peanuts are delicious!! We boil our own. We live outside the box. When I cook okra...I've never experienced ny slime. Fried okra is the best...pickled and cooked in my gumbos. I was never a fan of boiled peanuts. We have a fave peanut place we buy ours from in Chetokee, N.C.

Mojo is a Cuban spice/marinade that is usually citrus and garlic I believe. Was the muscadine juice or cider? I love okra in pretty much any way but pickled and chips are definitely yummy! And those cookies sounded delicious! Also, the only other thing I’ve never had is the couch mix but we have similar mixes here.
@BigJonTV4 жыл бұрын
The Muscadine was just a juice

With okra, it needs to be fried really quickly, or really slowly. My parents grew them one year here in the uk and it takes a few goes before getting them right. They are delicious in a curry too.

The fun is over and the reality is hitting home. Last day in NC! I know you guys had a great time and had some AMAZING food. I am sure it will be hard to leave family that you do not get to see that often. Glad you were able to stay a little longer and change the flight. Hope your flights go smoothly as you head back. Be safe. Great video. You really looked tired on this one Jon. The time change was getting to you huh? Interesting how Jami thought the juice tasted like wine...what is up with that!?!? And he wants to take it to school!?!?! LOL! Funny. And then you had Birch Beer!! What is up with wine and beer on a family friendly show...LOL! What is going on in NC!! I remember going to Maryland for vacation last year and they had some Birch Beer that we reviewed as well. They said that is what PA is known for. We liked it a lot as well and tasted like root beer. Good job guys. Come home in one peace. God bless!

Hey there! I was tired, but I think everyone was a bit down last night because of us leaving today, def a little more somber. It was very rough leaving today! We just loaded on the plane now. 1 stop in Denver then to Oakland by 930!

@@BigJonTV Going is always FUN, leaving is always HARD! I hate it every time as well. The good part is that I am sure it will not be the last time in NC either :) Enjoy the time you had and the memories that were made. :) I am sure the kids will talk about this for a long time! Safe travels and welcome back home. God bless!

I think Birch Beer soda is an East coast thing. I'm not a big fan. I'm more of a Root Beer gal. These all seem like really strange foods. The juice does remind me of a Merlot wine. I might like to try the jam but the rest probably not. Jamie was particularly picky & sassy in this vid!! lol Love all ur videos!!

Nice review of regional products. I think your 'California' is showing - it's not moe-hoe, it's moe-joe, as in magic ex: I got my mojo working. Anyways, there are a number of birch beers sold down here in SoCa, most are produced in PAl. We've eaten okra in pickled, fried, and as an ingredient in soup. Boiled peanuts from a can are an abomination; you really have to get them freshly made at a roadside stand. Knott's Berry Farm sells FROG jam. Couch Mix seems like an interesting snack.
@BigJonTV4 жыл бұрын
Omg i nearly died when someone said HalApenO and the moejoe/moehoe makes sense! Lol As far as the boiled peanuts... I just can't do that texture, the taste is good. ❤Jess
