For all of those saying the driveway looks like shit. That driveway looks alright. The base layer was a build layer, hence, tailings. Ill say, Ive seen worse, this doesnt compare. The edges couldve been straightened out better.

My last job before retiring, we did a parking lot for a restaurant. It was just dirt & rocks, We put millings over it & Then did plowing for the next 2 winters & it stayed good. The best thing was we didn't have to truck the millings in. They were redoing roads in town & wanted a close place to dump. so my boss owned the property & had them dump the millings right on it.. all we did was move it around with the loader. Had them dump on another property he hd also.

I have so many questions i dont know where to start. Why would you cover the old with millings Wouldnt that cause the New to SLIDE? why are you beating on your guide Dont you have a torch? Why no string lines or paint lines? Why didnt you Cut the grass line back? Maybe using a whacker on the edges first might help keep your roller up right. If MY boss did work like this..... well we'd be ALL looking for work by mid march.

Nothing moves for shit on a paver unless it's: - hot - excessively greased - soaked in diesel Time to mount that guide bar on a swing-away arm and shitcan that fixed slide. The undeniable smells of every spring, the first hot mix job....lol LMFAO!! We had a crew lead dump over a 5T Bomag like that, little too far over the edge, BOSS.... hahaha!

I've been working black top for 2 years now I think they did a fine job not every jobs going to come out perfect and don't blame them for the material blame the Quarry some quarries don't even let you bring it back keep it up guys we got a long summer ahead of us 👍👍👍

@@leebee816 I'm not surprised the Quarry we get it from used to do that until they implicated a new rule where if you don't leave the Quarry they will refill it. all the hateful comments I betbare bunch of people who have never even worked at a hard day in their life I just got done a 10 hour shift today it looks like you're a family-run business which is awesome just keep up the good work man

Thank you so much, The worst thing I get called in the comments is a fly by night gypsy and that really torques me. If we were fly by nights I wouldn't have 33 paving videos on my channel, and we have a 4.5 star rating on Google and we never been sued or put in jail (we've been in business for almost 30 years ) and in the past 7 months we invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in new equipment like new paver, track loader, dump truck, equipment trailer, and roller.

The edges might not be straight as an arrow. If you fill the sides in and get grass growing, you wont even notice the imperfection. Although, on a farm, I dont think anyone cares about perfection. I have worked on farms and this driveway is the red carpet of driveways compared to any farm I have been on.

The job itself isn't that bad, but even over here in the UK, you always spray with bitumin/asphalt sealer or tack as it will not bond and eventually slide like 2 plates on top of each other, even if the cost is low, that was really the one thing you should have done, but I guess with all the comments, you won't make that mistake again.

We've done jobs like that many times and had absolutely no issues at all, the customer was very satisfied with the work and never called back with any issues (it's been 3 years since I've put this video up) we've been in the industry for almost 30 years and were still going stronger than ever and if my work was bad it would not be on yt or better yet we wouldn't be in business wouldn't we?

Only thing I would say is you should of put more crown in the paver or a thicker coarse. Breaking rock like that will just cost you more money in premature wear on your screed

Those screeds on the Lee boy pavers do go out quick,they get so hot from the propane heat causes them to warp out and makes the metal soft. But they do lay a beautiful mat

why worry about using the guide, there are no paint lines to follow. I watched alot of your videos, you guys work way to hard. why not skim the driveway with 9.5 mm or 1/4 ? hammer hammer get the tourch or wd40 and spray it up. with a crew total of 5 men we lay 3 800 ton driveways a day in 12 hours, and the put yours to shame hands down.
