No armored support. At all. Russians save those for Russian troops. Not that it makes much difference, not too many of those left, pretty much entire old soviet stockpile is used, what is left is what they can produce and that is less than they are losing.

Vats and Soviet doctrine experts hate that particular scene as western ignorance of "complex" Soviet ground maneuver and "deep" battle. However, they are wrong. Offensively, the Russian army is blunt, unweilding and an easily disorganized Chinese fire drill. Russian sophistication lies in their defensive tactics, which are interconnected,shift around or stay mobile, use decoys and are layered to an extreme scale. Rusiboos are just as ignorant as the westerns they hate.

Well standard infantry tactics from WW1, two units up front with one in reserve. They are spread out correctly for a platoon attack as well. That at least counts for partial credit.

Hell, that didn't even work during the Korean War. The NK armies were basically smashed and done for until the UN troops got too close to the Yalu river and the Chinese intervened. The Chinese actually used decent tactics in their counterattack. This looks more like something out of the Somme or some other WW1 hellhole, and probably just as effective at getting the attackers killed.

The DPRK Army has no chance because they don't have the air cover to protect them from defending troops. Remember, the Red Army during World War II could pull off these mass wave attacks because by the beginning of 1943, the Soviet Air Forces _Frontal Aviation_ had air superiority over the Germans just by sheer numbers and could deploy the Pe-2 bomber and Il-2 ground attack plane to take out enemy positions first.
