North and South Korean soldiers on Wednesday, December 12, crossed the demilitarized zone (DMZ ) between the two countries to inspect the dismantling of guard posts, Seoul reported.
The peaceful visits and inspections - the first since the Korean War - were part of the agreementthat each country would remove 10 guard posts along the DMZ and preserve one on each side, including the one previously visited by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
This footage, shared by the office of the president of South Korea, shows the soldiers shaking hands at the border before making a crossing.
South Korea’s Ministry of Defense released a video on November 20 that showed their northern neighbor destroying its guard posts.
North Korea reportedly has around 160 guard posts inside the DMZ, while South Korea has about 60 guard posts.

This is a positive visit. When I was on the DMZ line, 2nd US Infantry Division, the North Koreans pointed AK's to the south. The South Korean soldiers aimed their rifles to the north. @@paul1181 There are not differences between North Coreans and Coreans; only the goverments are the difference. The Coreans living anywhere in the world do not say North Corea or South Corea; just Corea. Although many blame North Corea and the (now extinct) Soviet Union, actually the US has been filling the South Corean government with their occiental thoughts and doctrines, therefore being an obstacle to the unification. As always, US shouldn't mess in nternational affairs, war is not good and it cost lives, so american government shouln't push for it. It calls my attention, as south american, that until today US does hold territories worldwide and even does have nuclear weaponry. During last month a US nuclear submarine was detected in argentine waters for instance (you may google) exercising along with british warships from the Falklands, when it's near the 40° annivesary of the war. But that is ok, no one in America is provoking. However, if the North Coreans exercise or exhibit nuclear weaponry, IN THEIR OWN TERRITORY, its them the dangerous ones and the ones that should back off from their ''expansionism policy''.

@@diegoargibay2287 @Diego Argibay boy i couldn't read your comment with a straight face. north corea? south corea? hahahaha sorry it's spelled as korea bro. and when i said north korea and south korea i was referring to their respective government not the people. but yes, they both are the same race but their is north korean and south korean people. it's common sense, because nationality creates identity. just like the American and the British, or the Australians. same race but different nationality. same goes for south and north korean. lastly, i only pointed out that unification is not possible without war, because both government wouldn't allow the other one rule them. i don't know what you talking about in your comment. i can't speak for the north koreans because i haven't talk to the only north korean i know regarding this isssue. i haven't seen her in a while LOL but for most south koreans i know, and i ask about them regarding this matter, most of them say they don't want another war. though they always say they wish things in north korea gets better, they wish north and south creates a lasting peace agreement. also to answer what you've said, personally i blame the greedy US and soviet union for the split. i mean, when the japanese left the country 1 korea should had the freedom to chose what political system they would embrace and pick their own leaders. but the US and the soviet union wanted to have their own little puppet. so they split up the territory, the north got communist leadership through their 1st kim supreme leader and south got the American system. yes, north korea gov is guilty and dangerous on a lot of things, but you can say the same for the US as well. they have many occupied ( stolen territories ) like guam, saipan, US virgin island, US marshall island, they even stole thiago island despite UN told them to return it to the natives. falklands is also another example of british stolen land from Argentina. yeah the Americans are right to say north korea is dangerous to imagine having nukes, though they already have it. but i just find it funny, we all imagined north korea as a dangerous nuclear nation yet they haven't attack any country so far. while the American drop 2 nuclear bombs and killed millions of innocent civilians. lol while the American's continue to invade and kill civilians in Iraq, afghanistan etc.
