thats why i saw them running on the route 56 after school that why it was so rare you never see artics running on the route 56 until now

The last bet Septa has for finding artics other than Novabus is New Flyer Articulated Excelsiors, or, for a change, try double decker buses. They can hold the same capacity as a 60 foot bus, but are designed to be like a conventional 40 foot bus. When you see it from that point of view, why couldn't Septa purchase those instead. If Septa did, not only would we see extra buses on routes that currently use artics, but we would also have an additional 30-35 with suburban type seats for Routes 123, 124 and 125.

Completely agree. I don't think they should get rid of the current fleet I think they should supplement the fleet with more larger buses like literally every other large city has done.

Hopefully they make the layover at torresdale & cottman short since the artics will take up space in the loop, especially during peak

They rearranged the loop in hopes that it fixes the problem. It will only be half and half so it shouldn't be too big a deal

Hey Dash, is Septa eventually going to put plastic seats on all the Novas, because those cloth ones are disgusting

Unless something changes, there's no plans to.

I should add, when these buses get their overhauls, they will likely get new seats like the rest of the fleet, but they're not due for them until after the 2011 LFRs get overhauled which has JUST started so it's only a theory

Nicolas Johnson the 56 needed them . They were always overcrowded . This will be permanent REALLY soon .

Maybe Septa could in the future purchase Enviro Double Decker buses to push the articulated buses to other routes that need them with at least an additional 20-25 with suburban type seats for Routes 123, 124 and 125.
