Aloha! I am one of the Volunteers at the beach with the honu. Did the volunteer tell you the main reason the honu are there? It is their food. As you see in the video the honu is eating on what we call the shelf. They eat the limu (algae) and bask. Great video and mahalo for keeping your distance. They are truly remarkable wild animals.

Thanks for the info and for volunteering to keep the beaches the way they’re intended to be!

FYI...Limu is not algae. Limu is seaweed. Honu prefer to snack/dine on long(4-6ins) limu that's looks similar to laver that's used to wrap sushi/musubi

Nice video but your title shot is of Kailua on the windward side, not the NorthShore.

What's in you're camera/mike set-up? Do you have a drone in your arsenal/tool box? Was born/raised around Waimea/Shark's Cove area & learned to snorkel/spearfish in the area....

We primary shoot on a Canon m50 with a Sigma 16mm lens. The mic we use is a Deity V-Mic D4 Duo. All the shots of us in the water were from a GoPro Hero 7 Black. Thanks for watching!

Stop overcrowding North Shore...residents gave lost our freedom.

Tourism is the largest industry for Hawaii, so you should want visitors to come to keep the economy healthy. Many of the businesses that are supported on the north shore are local, mom and pop businesses, so I’m sure the owners appreciate it. Thanks for watching!

Renee not sure but probably is because people at hating word of mouth but also tourism ads increase the numbers coming there. I was told tourism is the number on economy on Hawaii. So the ads and population also relies on the tourist dollar?
