tewster2 You are welcome! Your adventures were an inspiration to us. If we would of waiting 5 more minutes at the Dalton Highway sign, we would of met in person! I am sure we will meet in person somewhere on the road.

What was the plan if the Pinto broke down say, just north of Atigun Pass?
@thewanderingpinto59792 жыл бұрын
No plan. That saying, best plan is to prepare to be self sufficient.I guess we would of used the CB radio to talk to a trucker and ask help and at least get towed back to Cold Foot.

@@thewanderingpinto5979 Thanks - I was curious. I drove it in an Acura sedan that I didn't trust completely. I had $500 cash in the center console in case of breakdown. My plan was to abandon the car and pay a trucker to take me to Deadhorse or Fairbanks, whichever was closer. It didn't occur to me that a trucker might be willing to tow you if you have a tow strap. I'm making another run in '23 (in another POS) so your feedback helps.

What a great adventure. I'm sure you and Donna will cherish that memory for the rest of your lives. What time of the year did you go on the trip?
@thewanderingpinto59796 жыл бұрын
It certainly was and we will! Our entire trip from Wisconsin and back was June 14th through July 29th 2017. Dalton was June 27th-30th.

I don't know about the northernmost Pinto in the world. I hear Russian fishing and cargo ship crews routinely buy old american cars and strap them on deck for the return trip.
