Forgot to say a 1954 S1 was the 1st vehicle I ever "drove" aged 8 , had to stand on clutch I do remember ! It was my parents SWB recovery vehicle , unfortunately I'm currently unable to trace it ! We had it until 1980. Take care & more vids please Ben ! Garie ('55 S1)

Good video! It's a pity that you don't release it often! I would like to see a prototype if possible! Thank you for keeping this vehicle!

Thank you! Unfortunately we can’t do these trips all the time but we’ve got some good stuff planned for the summer.

@@retroeighty5319 I mean not only trips, but repairs and everything related to the car! Who was driving a dark green Landy?
@retroeighty53193 жыл бұрын
Definitely will try to film everything. A friend of ours was in the other LR, they’ve been on many trips together.

I can't recall if i asked you this on another video but I have just purchased a 1953 80" (2lt) and will likely be doing up to keep. My question is what drive train are you running re motor , gearbox (standard, overdrive or reconfigured gearing?) and diffs allowing for better cruising speed and power (by degrees 😆) for light off-road? thanks again and looking forward to some updates when time permits and schedule allows. Adam

Really good video mate, filming and editing is brilliant. I found the music to be a bit loud in some parts compared to the video but I was using headphones. All in all, very well put together video

Great vid! Are there generally more lanes open to vehicles in Wales than in England or Scotland?
@retroeighty53192 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’m not terribly sure, we go to Wales because it’s relatively close and there’s good driving. But there’s plenty of lanes everywhere. An app called Trailwise is good, failing that, OS maps show them.

Hi Ben, was it a campsite in Bala you stoped at? And if so what was the name of it, thanks Jim

What are the names of all the lanes you did please?
@retroeighty53193 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don't know any of the lanes. The first one was off the top of the Tanat valley down to Llandrillo. The next day we went on a lane from Dolwyddelan to Capel Curig. Then Penmachno to Ysbyty Ifan. We then picked up a lane a few miles down the road that then brought us out about 5 miles north-west of Bala. On the final day we did the Corwen Car Wash. Then picked up a road/lane out out Glyndyfrdwy over the top. And finally a lane from Glyn Ceiriog to the edge of Oswestry.

Good green-laning but we have to reject that small replacement steering wheel which must be in conjunction with fitting a power steering unit. Takes all the originality out of the Series 1 driving experience.
