Ken, loving the road trips sir. Interesting place Coonabarabran, you are in Yowie country, My brother-in law was the head of Narrabri Police for years and told me some interesting stories from motorists driving through the Piliga scrub after dark, he stated there were to many co-incidences in the reports from motorists for them to be made up. He strongly suggested not parking at night between Narrabri and Coonabarabran Mind you, if something stepped onto the road, there would be little argument from them, "that is a lot of truck to stop". Stay safe sir and again I enjoy your posts, and thank you for keeping our economy turning and your commitment to enduring service for the people of Australia.

I always find that hour before sunrise is the hardest to drive through even if you just got out of the bunk after a good sleep. The book/camera tells you when you can sleep when you can rest not when you are tired i would like to see one of the shiny arsed suits work to the BFM hours for a month & see if they think it is a good way to manage fatigue. Sleep when your tired work when you are able to cheers Kenny

HI, Ken, loving the runs up through my old playground Coonabarabran, and Dubbo, I lived in a double becker bus in that carvan park in Coonabarabran as a little boy with my family when that bridge was wooden I used to love them Old Kenny's and Mack's and can't forget the louisvilles on the Jakes coming into Coona me and my younger brother used to sit at bridge waving at the Truckies to honk their horns most did great times back then stay safe brother. I was only about 6 or 7 years old at the time, but I remember they wouldn't let trucks cross that wooden bridge at the same time. Some days, the lineups would stretch up the hill as you came into town. I wish we had mobile phones back then because the convoys were like something out of Smokey and the Bandit. In 1978, we moved out of that park and went to a farmhouse called Binnaway. A couple of years later, we moved to another farm at the Narrabri turn-off on the New England Highway. Eventually, we settled in Gunnedah, where I completed all my schooling and explored the countryside. There are some really big goannas still roaming around out there, along with some things you probably already know about. Take care, brother.

Tired after the 24. This is due to the changeover times and a lot of driving at night and sleeping during the daytime. Sleeping with the reefer and ice pack running. Then you do not sleep well, which you do in the 24 and relax at other times. .And age also plays a role. It's all about a rhythm. A good rhythm makes it easier for your biological clock, which provides your energy. Eating at the same times also helps. It aint easy with this job. I know. I've been there. I did the same job as you for a long time in EU. Rushing at night and sleeping during the day with a reefer on. Some people went to sleep for 30 minutes during the 45 minute mandatory break. I couldn't do that. Then I would be broken when I woke up and had to move on Keep the wheels rolling Ken. Have a good one. Stay safe.

You do a very good job on you video,s homeless tricky, I really Admire you,you don’t have much time to spare between Adelaide and getting to the markets in Brisbane On the last video I watched you put a photo off the old railway around Gundagai, I worked on the re-alignment of the Hume Hiway in my own Concrete truck between Coolac and The dog on the Tucker Box back in 2007, then Albury to Woomargama I actually traded my Isuzu in for a KW Octopus quick hitch,so it could be a concrete truck or a tipper

I was a nightshift worker and the 24 hour sounds like our weekends I use to get home Friday morning stay up till my son went down for his nap and napped with him that way I could get rest and spend time with both my young ones then deal with tears Sunday night because I'm going to work while there going to bed

We can drive 14 hours in a 24 hour period, and can drive up to 6 hours in a stretch, we have to have a 7 hour continuous break and the last 3 hours can be taken any way you want from 15 minutes and up

Great work Ken. A few questions, if you have the time. What's the device at the end of the fuel Nozzle with the flashing lights? How many fuel tanks does your truck have, how long does it take to fill from near on empty and how far (roughly) can you get from being fully topped up and fully loaded? Cheers buddy, stay safe!

It’s a fuel delivery system that Lindsays are using at the moment, there’s a tag number code on the tank which identifies my truck and records how much fuel I’m using each month. Not sure what the rate the fuel is being pumped at but probably takes about 5 to 6 minutes each tank, there are two tanks that hold 630 litres each .

When you get tired Ken just stop ✋ nothing is more important than getting your rest . You’re right 24hrs isn’t enough?,so drive accordingly to your heath and wellbeing. As you and I both know the job isn’t the same everyday too many variables. It’s just fruit and veg it’s not life or death . Don’t shorten your sleep time 5 1/2 hrs just isn’t enough sleep sleep as much as you need 7 hrs from the time you get to bed besides fueling, food shower ect take as much time as you need, that’s why I don’t like kilometre rate just another way to push drivers . Maybe management need some serious COR TRAINING???. Keep her greasy side down Kenny 👍🙏✌️
