Great lesson my brother. Thank you for the way you explained the name of the church. Also, how I think about musical instruments is this. As a parent, when my children have come to me and ask for something. Such as can they go over a friend's house or outside. And as a parent you say nothing. But then that child does it anyway. You say" I didn't give you the okay to go do that." Then the child says" you didn't answer me." As a parent you were silent about the topic. Since God is silent on the topic of musical instruments in the New Covenant. We are to take that as God saying "no." We are to use what we have and be satisfied with that. Musical instruments are not necessary. Those that use instruments have to be careful. Because actually, it's the music that moves you, not the words. It's no different than secular music. We remember the beat before the words. The beat reminds us of the words.

The Church was not established under the old law. King David used instruments BUT God didn’t say for him to do that. David did it on his own.

My understanding is David was not in the sanctuary,synagoge. He was speaking to God one on one. Honoring him in David's words. Psalms is a love song and story to God from David.

Many former gospel preachers stopped preaching this message. Yes, we as members of the church worship and serve God only as HE as commanded and Authorized us through his word under the New and better covenant. The Old Testament or covenant is written for our example and learning.

Thank you so much Bro Willie for dispelling some of the myths against the church by addressing the statement posted by someone who clearly needs more knowledge & wisdom on what the word says. Church of Christ Malachi 3:6-18 God is extremely consistent, He can do a new thing in a new season but He does not CHANGE. Exodus 25:40 God tells Moses how He wants to be worshipped, there was a pattern to follow. Christianity too has a pattern to follow, not personal opinions. Hebrews 8:5-7 This verse is connecting us to the Old Testament verse where Moses was given instructions (Exodus 25:40). It was getting us ready, Jesus has come with a new pattern. Everything we do in worship has a negative & a positive teaching. PREACHING 2 Timothy 4:- reproving, rebuking, exalting COMMUNION 1 Corinthians 11 Reflective mindset, meditating & giving thanks. GIVING/OFFERING Cheerfully, not grudgingly, as you have been prospered. SINGING Any church that has instrumental music should give a New Testament Bible verse to support that. Singing to one another in hymns🙏 No teaching on instrumental music from all the Apostles.

Ive once heard someone say, no one argues with Muslim, Jews, or others. They only argue against what they know to be right, Christianity. A house divided against itself can not stand. Satan wont argue with himself. Yet he definitely fights hard against Truth. Keep on teaching it my brother.

Currently working overseas now, tho I grew up with Church of Christ family in the Philippines and this topic with adding and removing words from the Bible (instruments included) has been a struggle for me when it comes to discussing religious things with my friends. I just had this conversation with my friend about this certain preacher who has antics & side shows every Sunday on youtube. Where is the preaching of the Word. Everybody in the building is soo excited about what the ending will be because they know something is coming. To me, they just want entertainment.
