Beautiful!! It's the closest we get to having a time machine.

Thank you for the video. It's great to see older power, graffiti free rolling stock, and trains with a caboose -- the trains of part of my childhood. They were bringing on higher horsepower already in the 70's. I remember in the 60's, frequently going to a yard and tower close to where my grandparents lived. The NYC and nkp ran early diesels in interesting combinations.

Another excellent video by, Railroad Media Archive. To me it doesn’t matter the quality of these vintage railroad videos, what matters most, is that footage like this is out there and is able to be viewed by people who can appreciate it. Thank you for sharing.

The shot of the Reading push/pulls was in Royersford, PA. I spent many a Sunday afternoon watching RDC's come and go there.

though some of the P&S shots are grainy, it's wonderful to see footage of the Sprankle Mills viaduct in the 70s!

Coming of age trackside in the 60's and 70's we never knew how courageous (foolish?) we were to stand near all that steel swaying on jointed rails. Of course we survived many things that modern generations can't believe we did!

In Ohio in the '60's it was said that except for a few places along the Ohio River that no one in the state was more than five miles away from railroad tracks...
