everyone has his own gusto for music. so you can't say bodom sucks. bodom fuckin rocks like norther. they are both great bands. i'm listening to bodom now for over 2 years, and it never bored me. laiho is a very high skilled guitar player what enthused me a lot of times. same thing to petri. the solo's of norther may be not on the same level like bodom's but they both just kick ass.

I discovered COB two years ago, and they bored me after one year of listening, as all the speed metal bands i used to listen to. But Norther is less technical, so less boring, and i still listen to it :)

The definition of blast beat is relative, any fast 16th notes that you perform with the double pedal can be considered a Blast beat, like a small parto of the "In your Face" song, it has blast beats (by fast I mean 190BPM and above)

Both Norther and CoB are good. Personally, I think Norther could rock the socks off CoB, but I have lots of respect for both bands.. There's no reason to argue over who is better.. it's Melodic Death Metal, and we're all fans, so just enjoy the music.

Cob was known as Inearthed in awound 1993, you can hear some demos on youtube just type 'Inearthed'.. Both got their own style and both sound awesome, now stop comparing please lol

@roudari20 if you take into account that there was at least 1 camera + 1 crane to move the camera for top views... then video effects, that go far beyond WMM... at least one guy controlling the camera and editing/mixing/syncing the video... added with total worktime... Actually, most all of Bodom's stuff is in D standard. There's like 2 songs in drop C on HCDR, but the new one is where they really got into it. FWIW, i think the first 4 bodom discs are great, but not the last one. I always thought of it this way: Bodom puts about zero effort into the lyrics and way more into the actual music (more guitar soloing, keyboard solos etc) but Norther puts way more effort into making good songs.

Norther is way more melodic then COB. COB is much more technical with fast and demanding riffs. Norther are a bit technical too but focuses much more on the chorus and keeps it a but more simple. I personnaly like COB and Norther but I can't judge wich band is best cuz they are in some way very different. Dreams of Endless War is good but Mirror of Madness is there best CD
