Well done!! Beautiful and stunning cinematography and nicely put together! And only a 2 wheel drive......insane! Yet an amazing testament to the resilience of a 2 wheel drive machine. Intensely magnetic and brilliantly brought forth! Beautiful British Columbia indeed! And you showed just one segment of it's multi-diversity, and it's overall beauty found from East to West and North to South. We are truly blessed to live and be able to adventure and explore here!

That is one of the best travel blogs I have ever seen....I hope you consider writing a book about your journey up through B.C. in Betty the Beast and her fantastic effort as a 2 wheel drive. Things you could right about are how you got Betty ready, the clothing you used for the wet trip, food you ate, how you succumbed to the many challenges you had, places you loved, what you did not like on your journey, advice for anyone traveling up through B.C. even in areas which are not nearly so daunting, oh and include understandable maps and where the places featured are, on a larger scale B.C. map. I believe it would be a best seller Looking forward to watching the next episode. It will be difficult to improve on!

Just discovered your channel. Just straight out awesome! As an off-roader with a 97 LX450 (triple-locked), I was just blown away with what you were able to accomplish with a 2-wheel drive vehicle. The heavy load will actually help with traction on hard surfaces, but still some great driving/spotting skills. You guys are living the dream. I would love to travel out west through BC, and up to the arctic. Best of luck on your journey, and know I’ll be watching the whole time.

What I did for this year traveling was the house door bug mesh screens sewed in the house screen double layered . Yes it took several days to sew, but was not bothered with mosquitos , or other bugs. Taped it to the rear window, worked very well until the one day I forgot to close the window will traveling, yes out that way. I could lower the window right down, so that was a good way to cool the truck down at night.

For the "no see ums" try lighting a mosquito coil in the camper. When my wife and I made a trip to Inuvik, we met a couple from Texas who where treveling to Alaska, and asked us how were were coping with the moskitoes in the truck camper. No problem when you light up a "Pic Mosquito Coil". We gave them a small piece to try overnight (we were both camping overnight at the Wal Mart parking lot in Whitehorse, Yukon. The next morning they could not believe how well these worked. They went to the Wal Mart and bought some right away. They really work! e

Fantastic job on your cinematography and drone work! I enjoyed it’s release especially on a Sunday so I could soak it all in. A trip of a lifetime, you never know when you’ll have the opportunity to return. Such a special time of sharing with old friends in Smithers BC, not a bad town to be stranded in. Breakdowns are God’s way of saying “You need to stop and smell the roses just a little.” Evidence of that is how it timed perfectly in order for your newfound friends from Switzerland to catch up to you. I’m sure they were well climatized to the elevation and enjoyed the unique vastness and unpopulated ruggedness of our Canadian version of “the Alps”. Good fellowship was shared by all. I noticed it already when I was watching the original Alaska Hwy. to Atlin/Whitehorse episode. Your chronology is a bit off: You're going over the Teslin River bridge at Johnsons Crossing before entering Teslin on the Nisutlin Bay bridge. Coming from the Jct. 37, Johnsons Crossing is 50 km past Teslin....Just had to rub that in this time😉. But nobody noticed it anyway🙂 A beautiful compilation nonetheless 👍 Thanks for putting it together! (Telkwa Pass again ❤)

I’ve heard of the garlic trick, I’m just not sure if we could stand each other being smellier than we already are.🤣 Glad you enjoyed the rewind, there will be more in the future. I’ll post up some wedding photos at some point. 😊 Thanks for watching!

When you want the mechanic to look at your vehicle, get the car certified (as if you are selling the vehicle) do this before your car's warranty expires also. In Canada it's around $170.

Our warranty expired about 16 years ago…🫤

Nice epic adventure video Alex. Just like to know the name of the pass trail you have drove? Thanks.

Finally the first to comment on a video😊 what's spare parts do you carry with you because I'd be afraid to venture out that far without a spare of everything. More people should carry bear spray and a gun when in remote wilderness you never know what you're going to come across
@SlowRoamersАй бұрын
Haha, nice! Congrats!🤣🙌🏻

What a great video! Great drone shots! I always wanted to do that tour. I wouldn't have taken the risks you took; not with just you and a girl. I'm surprised you didn't roll the vehicle, ruin your transmission, or get a flat tire. You could have gotten stuck and had to walk out many miles. I'd only attempt this with two 4x4's and a couple of burly guys that can haul rock or deal with automobile breakdowns. This was too risky for just a two wheeled Van!
@SlowRoamersАй бұрын
Thanks for watching. Some people are more risk averse than others. I’ve grown up doing this kind of thing and there was never a point that I felt beyond my personal limit of comfort. If we encountered bigger problems we’d just deal with them one at a time.

I wonder why you are not wearing those hats with mesh netting for your face, protect from mosquitoes? And,not spraying your clothes down with mosquito spray with deet? Surely not your first rodeo with hiking in the woods? Anyways,loved the stunning scenary.Thanks for all your effort. Those are places I'll never see in my lifetime,but you made it possible! Great job! Look forward to more,new subscriber!😊
@SlowRoamersАй бұрын
Hey Dee, thanks for watching and following along! On the hike in Smithers we had sprayed ourselves with bug spray to no avail. As for the netting, I’m not entirely sure why we didn’t go for those. Maybe it’s optimism that there won’t be as many bugs…🤷🏼♂️

tres cool. i would follow your lead with this but would have to save for like 5 years to be able to (i may just yet)

It’s certainly pricey traveling the North, so saving up is a good idea, but definitely go. Thanks for watching!

I don't know about no see ems, but for mosquitoes, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a regular sized Windex bottle works well.

tight trail with branches gives your vehicle BC pin striping

Yep! As native BC’ers we’re well acquainted with BC on striping.🤣

@SlowRoamers guys great job on the video, I thought the van was 4x4, lol One other issue, deep water will kill the engine. Perhaps, consider installing air intake snorkel. Best of luck on your adventures! If you are in langley and need a hand or heated shop to add skid plates, just message me, happy to help
@SlowRoamersАй бұрын
Thanks Tom! Luckily our intake is quite high already and fairly protected, but if it was any higher we’d have taken additional precautions.
