Man...this gave me goosebumps! It makes me sad that I don't know much of anything about my people other than slavery. Listening to this makes me want to dig deeper into my African ancestry and get in touch with my roots. Hip hop and fried chicken is NOT my true culture. So I have people like this who still practice the ways of their ancestors to help me in my journey back home to the ways of mine. I thank you uploading this!

if you are anishinabe and except it, then you are pure. as a elder once said to my father "the only way the anshinabe can die and someone loses it, is if they do not learn their language. if the children learn the language and the ways of the medicine wheel for ages to come, then the anishinabe cannot die." we should all learn the ways of the 7 grand fathers so we can all live in peace. Native Pride!!! Be Native... or die.

ignore the last comment i posted. people shouldn't talk like that about the back up singers they are one of the main singers and they are very important to our native culture :) great singing penny and loves Kyle lead :)

I believ the Creator or Wankan Tanka (hope I spelled it right) created us all to be siblings, brothers. I believe that He made us mix to protect us as well, to keep the peaceful bloodline going, and to be sure we still had the influence for peace. This is what I believe, and I'm less than 1/16 Choctaw, from the Mississippi Nation, which didn't budge from Jackson's messed up law, and stayed. I'm proud of that! :) Thank you brother for loving us as Earthlings, Human Beings, and God's Children!

On our last visit to Toronto from the UK we had the opportunity to go to a pow wow held in what was then the Sky Dome. Watching and listening to this brought back wonderful memories we have of understanding the meaning of dance, costume and the music which we found haunting and emotional. Thanks for the experience.

@keikko17 The singers hold their ears so they can hear themselves. Often if you sit next to a loud singer, or the group singing can make it hard for one to blend in the song, so they hold their ear to keep in tune, its just easier to do if you can hear yourself.
