What Afe Babalola did to Chief Dele Farotimi is not new in Nigeria. It is in the Nigerian system of flexing muscle of assessing how powerful the elites are or who is your godfather. The elites use it all the time. My brother living in Lagos suffered a similar recurrence in Asaba, Delta State when Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was in office. My brother's land which was on lease to the governor and the sports men elitist of Delta State living in Asaba to play sports was confiscated from him and would not vacate the land at the end of the lease term or do a lease renewal. The next thing Ifeanyi Okowa and the rest of them did was to build houses on a piece of land leased to them on a term of 10 years. My brother wanted his land back. They would not let him have his land back. Rather a set of policemen and their police vehicle were sent from Asaba to Lekki, Lagos to pick my brother up and drive him back to Asaba the same night. The head of police office in Lekki wouldn't allow my brother to travel that night all the way to Asaba. So they waited for the following morning for them to travel with my brother to Asaba where he was wanted. They threw my brother into the cell and asked fot someone who had millions of Naira and a house in Asaba to bail him and using the millioneers millions of Naira and his house as surety before the bail of my brother. My brother got a lawyer to attend the police office in Asaba and the head of the police office in Asaba denied having sent the policemen with police vehicle from Asaba or any of the police office in Delta State. Who then allocated the police vehicle, filled the police vehicle with enough fuel and sent the policemen and the vehicle to Lagos to abduct my brother from his home and bring him back to Asaba? Up till now, they said that they did not know or have a record of those policemen involved in that mission. If they didn't know anything about that mission why did the police office in Asaba locked him up and asked for his bail with conditions attached to the bail? My brother was released after the bail conditions were met and the police office in Asaba requested that my brother should report daily and sign daily when they fully knew that my brother didn't reside in Asaba. Even if you have a helicopter it would not be easy for my brother to shunt Lagos-Asaba just to go and report and present yourself daily at the police office in Asaba. What people failed to realise is that Karmic law is very Potent and one cannot break it and go scott free. No, you won't. Now governor Ifeanyi Okowa is being accused of embezzling the Delta State wealth and money. All the derivatives that President Buhari paid the governor of Delta State cannot be accounted for by the ex governor Ifeanyi Okowa. Chief Edwin Clarke wrote governor Ifeanyi Okowa on behalf of fellow Feltans about how the derivatives mone was spent. Chief Edwin Clarke is elderly and I don't know if Chief Edwin Clarke was able to follow up his letter. Since Chief Edwin Clarke's letter, we haven't heard anything. Ifeanyi Okowa 😊spent the whole derivatives given to the people of Delta State over many yesrs for his personal gain to build university, a bank and roads leading to his university and bank. He did not build anything for the use of Delta State people. Now he is arrested. Would anything come out of his arrest? Not really. Yaya Bella is still on the run after spending public funds of over 88.01 billion Naira on his personal gain, on his family and on his children. Yaya Bello is going from baba alowo to baba alawo to use black magic to help him out. But doe's Yaya Bello realise that government workers in Kogi State did not receive salaries for about 6 years or more because of him? The workers and their families suffered and some died because they became ill and had no money to buy drugs or go to hospital. The tragedy with Nigeria is that Nigerian history or any history is not taught in Nigerian schools and colleges otherwise Nigerians would know what to do. Thanks to President Olusegun Obasanjo for abolishing the history lessons from Nigerian educational curriculum. Chief Obafemi Awolowo tried to bring his son Olusegun Awolowo to replace him in politics after his son returned from the UK. What happened to Chief Obafemi Awolowo's son, Segun is now history and his fellow Yorubas should be asked what happened to Segun Awolowo and the accident that he Segun had at Ikene or at the then roundabout at Ijebu Ode. So all of you politicians who embezzled Nigeria's wealth and want to bring your children to continue the embezzlement should be very careful. We brought nothing into the world and we shall take nothing with us when we exit the world.

I think people need to stick with the actual story rather than heat up the nation. This has nothing to do with activism or the Obidient movement! Dele Farotimi accused Chief Afe Babalola of controlling the judiciary in his favour on a landed property matter in Lagos State involving the Ojomus. Chief Afe Babalola filed a libel case against Dele Farotimi. Dele Farotimi claims he NEVER got any of the court summons so he NEVER appeared in court. The court served Dele Farotimi with contempt of court, which means, the court will instruct the police to arrest the offender for enforcement of appearance in court. The offender will subsequently be sent to jail without bail. This is standard international practice. This matter is similar to what happened between VDM and the Falanas. Had VDM failed to appear in court, he would have been imprisoned without bail alao. Why make it about what it is not? Let’s wait to see the process. Since Dele Farotimi has labelled Chief Afe Babalola SAN with serious allegations, he only needs to bring the evidence to support what he has published. Suing people to court for libel and slander (defamation of character) is nothing new and can’t be weaponised There’s wisdom in: Follow with sense, Support with sense.
