1."Lyra and her daemon moved through the darkening Hall, taking care to keep to one side, out of sight of the kitchen." a) This first sentence has suspence, because Lyra doesn't want to be seen and the term "daemon" is completeley new and unknown, so it makes the reader curious to find out what that means. b) Lord Asriel is scary, mighty, knows more than the others and can do what he wants. Lyra is curious and risk much to find things out. She is a child and she seems to me innocent. Yes she breaks many rules but I think from the adults perspective she is innocent. The master is protecting and he knows also much. The atmosphere: It is described a whole new world full of secrets underlined with dark suspense, because they speak about a war, that is coming. 2. My daemon: I am a fearful person and comfortable person, but sometimes I am also a little bit brave. I would love to have a cat as a daemon, but perhaps it would be just a mouse or so. How do they deal, when a daemon is a fish or otherwise an animal, that need water? Has the person always walk around with an aquarium? Thank you so much for this audiobook! I am really enjoying it!

The volume drops suddenly and then goes back to normal at regular intervals for me and the sound itself is a little warped/distorted during those moments. Is this happening for anyone else or is it in an issue on my end? (Otherwise I’m super enjoying it!)

It's probably just because it's a bit of an amateur recording with no specialist equipment. Sorry about this, for future recordings I will try and stay steadier when talking into the mic!

His Dark Materials- is the name of the book series, but even I used to think the series was called Golden Compass. A weird name, 'His Dark Materials'. I wonder what that means.

@@wispfire2545 His dark materials is a reference to John Milton's Paradise Lost. It's a passing line used to describe a realm of chaos between hell and the universe

Yes i rarely read these comments as did this a couple of years ago but can see that people have said similar things about audio! Maybe one day I’ll re-record it but the whole thing took me so long I’m still kind of traumatised! Anyway, cheers for the constructive feedback.
