Also, his color choice is sometimes weird, with too many colors looking like each others. The supports countries are sometimes shows as active participants, the borders can get mixed with dark colors.

Suggestions for if (hopefully when?) you update this * Include cities & regional boundaries. Not a lot of people know Mali's population or economic distribution so this would give people way more context behind certain operations--the road map does a pretty good job of this, but with only these road connections to use as reference, it look like Bamako and Mopti are equally important, or Anefif is a major city. I have no idea what software you use to make these videos, but in photoshop or gimp, it would be super easy to have a text layer such that you don't have to edit around the text when the conflict boundaries change, but can edit it back in when finalizing the product. * Use different colors or lighter shades for outside countries which support one or more Malian factions. It's very difficult to distinguish where Mali's borders with other countries are when they all have the same color, and also creates the illusion that other countries are much more heavily involved in the conflict than they really are.`It gets even more confusing when countries like Burkina Faso support multiple sides at the same time. * Use a pattern (ex. thin white stripes alongside thicker blue stripes) for areas where insurgents are active, but don't have full territorial control. Especially in the later stages of the conflict, your map shows huge stretches of territory as being under rebel occupation, when really it's administered by the government, but still experiences occasional guerilla attacks. * If you can find a way to do it without making the map look ugly, distinguishing uninhabited areas which have neither government nor rebel activity could also help make it easier for people to understand the size and nature of the conflict. Huge fan of your videos btw, I really appreciate that you bring attention to lesser-known recent and ongoing conflicts for which it's very difficult to find reliable info as an English speaker. As far as I know no other mappers are doing that, and it's a really valuable niche that you've excellently filled.
