That was a great video, thanks. I've been up there many times with my previous boats and didn't know anything of the history of the Bulwer and Comboyuro wrecks. The reason for the stiff poses in the old images was the very long exposure times of the cameras of the time. If the photographer didn't use flash-powder, you had to 'brace yourself' and wait for the photographer to put the cap back on the lens! PS - new boat on order at last!

Thank you and that is great news on your boat. That makes sense with the long exposure times but the subjects end up looking like they are being subjected to a rather unpleasant experience. :-)

@@weFishAU That too! Can't wait to get back out there. Bit of a shame that the RBC have closed membership applications - I can't even get on the list. Is PK still the secretary do you know?

Thanks for the video, I wish you included the segment about route and fuel estimates for the trip up you got me curious enough to go and find out :) Appreciate how much time you must spend on these videos

Great point! Having a break between the Middle series and the Northern series I had forgotten all about that. I will try to remedy the oversight in the next few videos. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for all your awesome videos and sharing your extensive knowledge on the bay. What is the program you use to collect and track all your way points.
@weFishAU3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It's something I am developing as a private venture. It's not quite ready for release yet.

@@weFishAU awesome and thanks for replying. I was interested more in the program that your are using to collect the information and store it. Is it a public application that you can edit to create your own set of information like you are doing?

The program that manages the data is something I am developing. As for the waypoints I I gather some when I am out and some are points (such as the wrecks) I have found on the net, in historical archives, etc. The tracks are imported from my chart plotter. Some small parts of the program I am developing can be seen at timestamps 6:00 and 6:55 The other programs that I have featured are the Navionics phone app which can be seen at timestamp 1:00 and Bathymaps which can be seen at 12:55. Both Navionics and Bathymaps are by annual subscription. Feel free to ask more if this hasn't covered what you were interested in.

Thank you for coming back to me I am a data nerd so I like the look of your system for inputting and maintaining data. Looks like an awesome program you are putting together. Love your videos. Thank you again.

Thank you. I'm a bit the same way, I wish I had thought of doing this years ago. I used to record stuff like this on paper and put them away where they would be safe. They are most likely still safe, if only I could find them. :-) Seriously, computers were invented for this sort of thing.

Hey, any chance you could let me know what is the software you use for your database

Yes. FishTrax. It is a program I am developing, still a bit to be done to to it yet. I hope to have it to a point where I am ready to release it in the next 12 months.
