Love the footage at about 39:56 where your daughter is clearly immersed in whatever DVD she was watching with two soft toys on her lap. She is super cute and seems to be growing up so fast. I stayed at Daly Waters in 1982 and paid $5 to pitch a tent. The ground was so hard I couldn't knock in any of the tent pegs. $5 for a shower, the beer and petrol was expensive, never again.

This was definitely one of the advantages of visiting Mataranka Springs during COVID. Normally those springs are jammed packed and it can really detract from the experience. We were lucky and lived in Katherine for a while in the late 80's, so were fortunate to experience the Mataranka Springs numerous times during both the wet and dry season. Flying Fox poo smell can be a bit overwhelming during the season as well. The fact you had the whole place to yourself is unbelievable! We took the kids to the NT a couple of years ago to visit all the stuff we did when we lived their early in our marriage, and Mataranka Springs was a must see. Great channel guys.

More drone. Getting slack. Fuel price is horrendous at Threeways and food is not much better. If you can, turn left at Threeways and go into Tennant Creek. First BP has much cheaper fuel, better food and a Red Rooster. Just a heads up with the hot springs/thermal pools. I had a minor spill of my motorbike and took some bark off when I first did my first trip years ago. When I got to Darwin I got a tropical ulcer. Nurse asked did I stop at any thermal springs. Yes I said, she then told me normal for open cuts/wounds to have problems in wet season as thermal springs are the ideal temp for bacteria. No open breaks in skin, no probs. Or wash down in antiseptic. Katherine has better priced fuel at unmanned sites at Zimm Dr.

Hi Guys, yet another awesome video! Very curious as to your average fuel consumption with the V8 petrol compared to diesel, particularly with towing. I've driven both for many years & am of the opinion that HP = fuel consumption, regardless of fuel type. Best economical vehicle to date was a 3.5ltr, 200kw V6 Toyota Aurion, current vehicle has a 2.5ltr Turbo Diesel using 2ltr per 100km more NOT TOWING! There a number of videos on KZbin where the Patrol V8 Petrol is more economical than the similar 'Cruiser V8 Diesel.... your thoughts?
