The high cost of providing infrastructure for citizens in and around rural and remote communities in B.C. has been identified by municipal governments, First Nations, Regional Districts, regional Internet service providers, and community advocates as one of the key barriers to expanding Internet services. The Connecting British Columbia program helps pay for infrastructure required to deliver high-speed Internet connectivity to rural and remote areas of the province.
The program is funded by the Province of British Columbia (Network BC) and is administered by Northern Development Initiative Trust.

Thank you for this great video. It makes me homesick! I lived there from the age of 7 to 15, so I spent a good part of my childhood there, the last 2 or 3 years in Rumble Beach (the new Port Alice). I'm sure if I went back for a visit, I probably wouldn't recognise it. Everything looks so green now. There are streets lined with planters of beautiful flowers and the trees have matured. (I know this from online videos.) A lot changes in 50 years.

Thank you , I couldn't remember the name, I know that port Alice was actually the old town site closer to the mill. Do you recall the name of the landing North of Rumble but South of Jeune Landing?

Don't forget they get about 170 INCHES of rain a year. I was up there in the late 70's. Last time I was there was in'89. Nick Pozedny was getting close to retirement. Great guy, too. Hope things worked out well for him.

Sounds like an ad by the government to justify the unnecessary expense of taxpayers monies. Rumble Beach, or as you call it now , Port Alice, has always had telephone service. If you have telephone you have internet..
