If you're really stumped, it's easy in Winter. Just set up a warm spot underneath some tight stuff near a wall. That snake will show up under that stuff on top of that warm spot pretty darned quick! I put a hat on a heating pad and a blankey on the hat. Snake curled up in the hat under the blankey.

Pure genius dude 😭 moral of the story use your phone camera turn on video use flash light and zoom scan under your furniture or somewhere warm , really slowly you will find snake in after 2-3 video I promise! I had years ago a Cali King snake escape. It went behind a gas fire, that we didn't use. Lured it with food, it grabbed it, then I held the snake a bit further down the body, and held on. Didn't pull, just hung on ( about 20 mins, might have been longer). Eventually the snake let go of what its tail had been holding onto. So got a hungry snake back ( Turned out my ex hadn't closed the lid properly, reason for escape) I no longer have the snake or the ex.... It was a good 18 years ago lol.

We were moving things around and didn't realoze that he got away. We did find him a couple years later outside. He went wild so we left him outside. We live way out in the sticks neighbors far away. He seemed happier outside then in an aquarium. He was a corn snake. When we found him he was really long and slim like they are suposed to be, and so beautiful.

I lost a young royal python once. It had found a hole in a window screen and escaped out the flat. The screams of a little girl finding it alerted me to its location. I went and retrieved and brought it back inside.

I've had Klaus (BP) for 5 years now, he was 6 weeks when I got him. He has gotten out 3 times in total. First time, he went down his rack, across a small room, and up an entertainment center to hide inside my PRINTER! Second, different house, he was up inside my top load washer. It's open underneath, he was curled near the drum at the top. Third, NOW. 48 hours. Still MIA

2nd time basil my BP escaped last night I can't find him ik he's in the room at least my reptile room is in my bedroom, my dresser has no openings, the biggest thing other than my tanks is my bed I sliced the material around my boxspring to find him and I see nothing, and the hardest part of everything is I'm a new amputee I just lost both legs a couple yrs ago but it didn't stop me from getting on the floor to look down low and still nothing last time I found him he was going under the dresser late at night that's how I found him but I've checked everywhere and my room isn't cluttered at all, except for 2 tables a dresser, bed, the rest are shelves with all the tanks, 7 of them, and still I can't find him being in a wheelchair makes it hard, but ik he's in here just where idk, any advice or help I could use rn, plz & ty

Lost my baby corn snake, it's the first reptile I had bought online and had shipped to me. She was still quite young and eating pinky mice. This was in February it's April now. I turned off the heat in my apt and set a lamp with hides on the floor. Good point in saying if you don't smell rotten animal it's still alive also going into a brumation state. Both of those things I hadn't thought about.. I'm still holding out hope I probably will wait over a year before thinking of getting another corn snake. I keep looking online and then feeling guilty just replacing her. If she's still alive somewhere. Realistically she is as she can't slide under my front door. So, I guess I'll update this comment in a year or so if I ever found her or not.

100% AGREE DO NOT GET RID OF THE TANK! I got off work one day after working really late, opened my Kingsnakes tank (still a baby) to see if he was in shed before attempting to feed, saw he wasn’t, so warmed up a fuzzy, while waiting for it to warm… I fell asleep woke up and he opened the door and escaped… 8Months later I fed my dog and refilled his water bowl, I come back 2hrs later to make some food and I saw him drinking out of my dogs water bowl, picked him up and set up his tank again, he wasn’t much bigger maybe lack of food, I hope it didn’t stunt his growth and he can still get to his full size

I live in Queensland, Australia. I have a coastal carpet python who I’ve only had for about a month. Built him a bio active enclosure. Finally got the misting system perfect last night…. Woke up around 2am and looked over to see him winding his way through the plants, fell back asleep and woke up at 7am….. no snake in the tank. Opened the doors, stuck my head in and looked through everything…. Could not find him at all…. Anywhere. Spent the day watching videos about what I could do to find him. And throughout the day implemented the tips others had mentioned. I searched my room (using the phone video light) checked the room below mine… no sign of him. Decided to place a pinky rat under the heat lamp in the enclosure and left the doors open, put a piece of driftwood against the cabinet so he could climb back up into the tank. placed a heat pad in the room below mine. Put 2 boxes in each room with a little hole cut in each as a hiding spot. Placed plastic bags around objects and walls… placed aluminium foil around the floor as well. Went up to swap the pinky rat over for a fresh one as it was now 7:30pm…. Opened my door and was shining my flashlight around the floor trying to find him. Got to the tank and shone the torch where the rat was sitting…. And there is the python chilling where the rat was. No rat in sight. I am so damn happy! 12 hours and he is back in the tank. He got Out because one of the roof screens wasn’t clicked down properly. He pushed the corner of the screen, 2 lamps and a small fan just enough to create a gap in the corner of the screen and got out.

Thanks to your video i found my juvenile banana Royal .He escaped while i was out and my hubby and kids were in bed when he did it .I tore the room apart ,panicking because our window is open , we have 3 dogs and cats .He had been missing 48hrs when i watched this and was sure some harm had come to him .But when you said think like a snake i thought hang on he is on a chest of drawers and we leave one slightly open as we have 4 royals and keep feeding tongs etc in it .We had checked the drawers but i suddenly looked at it and thought where would i hide if i were him , pulled out the bottom drawer and there he was in the big gap between drawer and floor .Swear he was mum put me back in my viv .He is such a lovely natured snake that we rehomed from a rescue along with two of our others.I mistakenly forgot to lock his viv remembered and thought he is to small to push the glass if it been one our big adult royals yes , how wrong i was .Won't make that mistake again .

Great Video Again and yes if there is any corn snake owners my step brother had his corn snake escape and didn't realise until he went to the toilet if you hang your towels on the back of your bathroom door and have any towels in there check them as his snake was hiding in there he went for dry his hands and the snake lashed out at him lol might not help you but if your stuck check your towels

Check your boots, in boxes, random tight spaces, and toys!! I’ve lost multiple ball pythons before due to my kids not closing doors fully. One was lost in my truck during transport when the bag wasn’t tied properly. Found it weeks later when I went to put my boot on 😳😅 She was totally fine and curled up at the toes!! Another was missing for a month before I found her one night when reading my daughter to sleep. After the book, I heard a noise in her closet. She was in a Barbie toy van that was in a box. The girl has taste 😂 Another was beneath a small gap at the bottom of our karaoke machine 🤦🏽‍♀️ Another was in a small gap between two parts of a wooden desk. None of these ball pythons were found in warm places lol. I think it’s easiest to find them when looking at night due to their activity and my phone’s camera light reflecting off their eyes. It’s hard to miss a sparkling pair of eyes staring at you 😂 Good luck!!

this is useful, my corn has been missing just about a week now, we're pretty sure he got down into the floorboards but been trying to lure him out. Setting his food out, his water, i looked everywhere in my room, all the other rooms, my mums been looking too as we're both quite worried about him. I find it would be true about teddies and corns! i find he likes fluffy things, usually goes to one of my teddies on my bed and explores around it, or curls up in the pocket of my house coat as it's fluffy. Unfortunately he wasn't in the box they're in. My mums friend lost her snake once and found them 3 weeks later in a shoe. Really be taking 'there's a snake in my boot' seriously. i find, iff you are going to use the whole, heated blanket on the floor thing, also put something they can hide in on it. I put his cave on it, and his hanging coconuts by it. oh well, even if the snake is missing; they'll turn up eventually, whether it be looking for food or water, could simply just be having a wander and you catch them in the act. my mums pretty positive he'll come out, and i am too. While the whole brumation thing could be a worry, our house can get quite warm, especially upstairs, so i don't think he'll go into that.

I lost my snake almost a week ago. I didn't notice I had left the tank slightly cracked and that he was missing for two days. Im certain I heard him moving in my daughter's room but I went and looked and I couldnt find him. I am absolutely devastated. I lost a corn snake living in Florida when I was a kid. He was gone for about a week and it started to get chilly at night so my dad went to light the propane heater it was mounted in the wall of our living room. I guess there's a pilot light on at all times so it was a bit warm and the corn snake had climbed up into the radiator. There was an opening at the bottom of the radiator for ventilation so I just set his enclosure underneath it with no lid and put some dinner in there for him and waited patiently and pretty soon he was back in his enclosure enjoying dinner and I popped the lid back on.

Found her - 3 months went by and I didn’t give up - and sure enough - found her - in my back yard

I have 6 Ball Pythons & I had found for myself those cage locks that set in between the 2 sliding prexy glass doors (you usually see these locks at retail stores on their display cases) they leave a slight gap between the doors. It was my eldest male, Angelo- Ezio, found it and was able to squeeze through that gap, escaping his enclosure. Well I had no idea he was out (all the snake enclosures are in my bedroom) and he would have been noticed if it wasn’t for Nali Lollipop, 1 of my small K-9s had heard Angelo moving about behind some items underneath the stand of Jupiter-Star’s enclosure. I brushes off her behavior cause the other dogs were playing on the bed ne t to her. That is when her attention towards the large box intensified. That’s when I took a look behind the box and found Angelo-Ezio! I was surprised due the fact I had places him in his enclosure a few hours prior! Well I placed back into his enclosure, and found out the lock on his enclosure was the reason he was able to escape.

Another easy thing to do. Open your window at night and put a fan in there to make it cold. Then heat up an area by a wall and make sure it's under something like a bin or hat. The snake should turn up there in the warm spot quickly.

My boyfriend and I just got our first snake at a reptile expo on April 2nd and we lost her this week. She's a baby corn snake. We've tried laying out flour, leaving out a pinky mouse, leaving shoes out, heating pads, warm water, turning down the AC, leaving multiple pinky mice, leaving warm blankets, etc. We've tried everything. This is helpful, so far I've lost him found him 3 weeks later in the apartment common area, most other times he's been around the book shelfs hiding with the books. Idk what it is about books but he loves those. This time hudini somehow found his way out we can't even figure out how everything is still intact locked down, but nowhere no books, no couch, no nothing. Apparently I need to stop watching Prison Break with his tank in the room. 😅😂

Soooo exactly what does a corn snake think? I'm a first time snake owner and I was still getting to know her. I put her in a nice enclosure instead of the Tupperware she was sold to me in and the air vents were apparently big enough for her to get through somehow so now I'm trying to find her. I have covered my floor in flour which is messy as hell, but I can see that she's loitering either by her enclosure or by my xbox from the trails she's leaving. But... I can't actually find her. I know vaguely where she is, but I can't narrow it down.

You say don’t grab and pull, but if my boy has been missing and I finally managed to see any part of him, I am am grabbing and pulling until I have him back safely, a few scales damaged and a slightly annoyed snake seems like a miracle compared to a loose and potentially starving / freezing snake 😢

I had a small corn snake escape through a small hole near a vent. So small I didn't even think he could get though it but he did. He pushed his way out. Fortunately the tank was on top of my desk which had drawers in. I found him the next day curled up in the top drawer. Needless to say he had the hump with me for a few days because he'd been caught and got told off but he never did it again. The hole was properly sealed up.

My snake got out because the two doors that swing together, apparently you can still watch the doors when one of the doors isn't quite all the way inside the latching mechanism. So once I was latched in and the other side was not and my ball python got out. Immediately started looking for holes in the other rooms mainly the bathroom because the water tank for the toilet comes out of the wall and there was space enough for a snake to get through and same thing under my sink where my pipes came in from the wall so I duct taped those shut. I put a warm space with a tight hide in the corner on top of a heating pad with some water and I put water throughout the house along the wall under furniture. All I can do is just keep looking and at night listening. It's been 5 days already. Wish me luck!

It’s been over a week and I still can’t find my baby pink snow corn snake Ekans . I have looked everywhere for her in the basement, in my room , in the side room , in my living room , jn my kitchen and even in my bathroom and no snake . I Left out food nothing . Left her cage open which is still warm but no return . I just have no idea where she could be . I miss her terribly and my biggest two fears are my cats will find her before I do or she will starve to death and that just breaks my heart 🥺 I only had her 5 weeks but she was so sweet and pretty and just a great eater . My BP got out ( could he only been few hours at the most) and and swore I saw something at night on her cage so I turned her lights on and she was just lookin at me and she seemed so dang proud of herself lol. She was just chilling near her heat emitter lovin' the * wild world* lol. Oh and she got out bc the Exo Terra lock broke! I also have a lock on the door but we all know snakes can pretty much squeeze out of anything ( BTW she was a few years old so it's not like she was a tiny hatchling) anyway I emailed exp Terra and they sent me a whole locking system and don't you know the damn thing broke? I know I'm not rough with it so idk maybe she has super strength? Anyway I think her enclosure just isn't big enough for her a 36x18x24 and she isn't a big girl ( she is a super picky eater as a lot of bps are) so I ordered her a 4x2x2 and hopefully will be shipped within the next month or so and won't have to worry about the locks anymore. Just a question has anyone had issues with exo Terra locks? There wasn't at the time much info out about how to fix the lock and or replace it. I figured it out bc it's quite easy but still I didn't come across but 1 or 2 people that have had this problem. Have a great day

Yes, love the design of the exo terra but the lock is rather flimsy. And you turn it up to latch it, so if it gets a little loose gravity can pull it down. It should have been designed to latch in the down position. That's how my corn snake escaped a few days ago. Still looking🤞

My milksnake just escaped the enclosure today. I looked everywhere. Behind dark places , under chairs/beds/dressers, I’ve checked closets and inside of clothes that are laid in the floor. I think he went through an air vent that is next to the tank and I’m worried he won’t come out. I have 2 cats and don’t think they’ll kill him but I know they’ll try to play and possibly end up hurting him. Any ideas to draw him out??

i've just lost my pretty small albino king snake in my room about an hour ago, during her feeding time. she bit the pinky mouse on it's side so i knew she wasn't going to eat it so i (unbelievably) just covered her feeding tank up with my cat's bed, intending to check back on her within 5 minutes. i got busy doing something else & forgot about her until about a half hour later & she is nowhere in sight. my vents are on my ceiling but she is so small she very well could've gone in my closet (which goes under the stairs so it's kinda big & really dark & full of exposed insulation), our out into the basement (which means she could've gone behind the washer/dryer or into one of my sister's rooms by now) and i am afraid i will never see her again. i've set out her uneaten mouse & my hermit crab's heat lamp is on but i still cannot find her under or behind anything.

I think my ball python got out about 2 days ago, my rooms a mess so I think there’s a higher likelihood she’s hidden somewhere in a pile of clothes the only thing I’m worried about is that my dad leaves out back door to our porch open all day and all night because we have no ac, so I’m worried she might have gone out to bask and a bird saw her, we live on the third floor apt and I went downstairs to chec and see if she fell off the edge too and didn’t see her. I just really hope she didn’t go out there and get seen by a bird.

I’ve had a *BABY* Cornsnake for a little over forty-eight hours, and he’s escaped through a tiny hole in the top of the enclosure between the lid and side I didn’t even notice or think about when setting up for him. So he’s gone, and I’ve torn my room to shreds.. it’s been about an hour since I’ve started looking but he could have escaped TWENTY-FOUR HOURS AGO. Because I went to sleep over with a friend, since he was starting his adjustment period to his new enclosure, i thought it was whatever- I wouldn’t be able to do much with him anyways. Uh. Today I found out my baby corn snake escaped, I decluttered the room as much as possible and set up 3 cameras to cover the whole area. I’m waiting for his active time which is between 9-11 pm, and I will be hypnotising the cameras, waiting in the other room, ready to come get him 😅 I don’t have a plan B, this simply has to work. If he already left the room, well then I’m fu**ed 😅 But the real problem is that I really dont know how the hell did he escape. I have it on camera, one minute he is inside and the next one he’s happily strolling around the enclosure 🤦🏻‍♀️

Help please. My sweet ball python (Niru) escaped from his enclosure several nights ago. I’m thinking he power pushed the terrarium lid up….we can talk about bad snake moms and the lack of enclosure locks, when Niru is safely home. 😔 I have tried all the tricks I have read about. No Niru sightings. My bedroom window was open 3-4 inches that night. Niru’s terrarium sits in front of the window. My gut tells me, he was curious and went out that window. The good news is the window goes out to the completely screen enclosed, lanai and pool. I have checked all furniture, plants, bbq grill, pool toys, etc. My main concerns: -How long can he live in the 80-90’ Florida heat. (I have set out water dishes.) -What happens if he escapes to the yard. 😳 -How/Will I find him…before I move to another home in 10 short days, on Friday, April 29th? I feel like such a horrible python mom. He is my sweet snuggle. Help, please!
