Actually, because of Northernlion, I was actually able to beat the game in less than 100 runs. First time I made it to Olmec was also the first time I beat Yama. He doesn't give himself enough credit because without him, I wouldn't know about this game and I sure as hell wouldn't know about the other half past Olmec.

Honestly, getting a shotgun from a shopkeeper in a vault on the ice caves is 50/50 at best. They usually take it with them as they fall to their death.

The only thing that really drives me crazy watching NL's Spelunky runs, is he never takes advantage of the fact that you can whip the damsel twice without killing it. When you have the kapala, and the damsel can but put in a relatively confined space, it essentially doubles the health you get from each on for minimal effort.

NL, you can throw the boomerang in an upwards angle. Most of the time you don't have to jump and throw it forwards.

100% agree, I often come to these videos to relax and I get confused when I see a bunch of high rated comments telling NL how bad he is at video games for not providing perfect gameplay from start to finish. I definitely wouldn't have the patience to deal with that kind of crap on a daily basis.

We clarified in his Rogue Legacy LP that he plays games the way he like (ie he never unlocked the fucking Lich!) and to be honest, that's why I come here. His dumb moments are the icing on the cake of his channel and I find them hilarious.

4:00 It causes me slight amounts of pain seeing him put the bomb there instead of one block up and to the right. Could've gotten 1400 gold from the two ore blocks, 500 from the ingot, and still gotten into the chamber below. I don't blame him, I doubt anyone would've really noticed that (especially while commentating) but it does slightly annoy me.

Watching you helped me kill Olmec for the very first time :3 I killed the shop keepers, did the black market, got the ankh, didn't find the statue so I couldn't go to hell but I finished with a final score of 385000! love the series thanks for all the tips :O

I do wish you were willing to risk the things you need to risk to get the really high scores on camera instead of taking the safer route, but with the amount of troll comments you would get I can see why you don't. I'm going to have to look for that supershow with you killing all the shopkeepers - that sounds fun :)

Oh I know he *has* done it before, it's just a matter of he doesn't do it consistently. When I manage to get the kapala, doing that to every damsel lets me easily get my health up over 10 every time I survive a decent amount of time, so doing it consistently is a huge boon.

Northernlion Plays: Spelunky! [Episode 26] - Total and Utter Waste, the episode. NL watching you waste so many bombs trying to get the jetpack was painful. A min of 2 and a max of 3 bombs is what it takes to get a jetpack on the psychic level not 11

Np! In all honesty the super shows are really great! That's some of his best content. I only watch them because I'm up late a lot and use them to put me to sleep lol. It's understandable they're super long and I can't watch them all neither. Glad I could help though and lets just enjoy NL's pure scummery!

It's a little bit less frustrating than in Dark Souls as there is no 'progress' (in the form of souls) to really lose. I recommend having a go; I beat Olmec after about 200 deaths. ^_^

Most frustrating episode to watch NL. Honestly, you should watch one or two episodes from the Foxman (if you haven't already), just to have another point of view, in terms of playing the game... That's a critic, but I still love you and your vids :)

I've probably seen 30 episodes of you just saying "fuck that alien!" so idk where that comes from except typical youtubery. I thought you did a great and entertaining job of pulling yourself out of a complete clusterfuck, and only to have it end sooo unceremoniously was fantastic entertainment.
