Hey, northernlion. There's a little trick concerning the whip that you may want to try and see if it works. In the original spelunky when you swing your whip the spelunker first swings it behind him and that first swing can actually harm enemies behind you. I don't know if they've translated that to the newer version, but you may be able to use it if you're being closely chased by enemies as they'll hurt you if you turn around and take a crack at them, but with the backswing that's not a problem

NL, if you place a bomb, you can pick it up again. By doing this you can cook the bomb and make it blow up in mid air. This makes it a lot easier to kill anubis without paste!

Not the most convenient solution, but you COULD not put the window into full-screen mode and then decrease the vertical length of the window so the progress bar doesn't show, or cover that particular part of the screen with another window or a piece of paper.

Hmm. I know that this tip wouldn't have applied to this position, but I usually kill Anubis using a thwomp. It is helpful when the thwomp hits his lower half, because the scepter won't be destroyed. (To use the thwomp, he should be horizontal of you, and you taunt it into hitting you but jump out of the way.) It is always a one hit kill when it crushes him to the wall, luckily.

The alien didn't shoot the shopkeeper. Their green bolts destroy blocks, he was stuck in a crevice hovering over the shopkeeper's floor, you walked under him, the alien destroyed some of his shop, you know the rest.

Oooh! I meant his rough sessions. ;) I'm pretty is doing a big recording of 2h-3h and then cut (I do that a lot for this type of videos). I suggested to reduce these 2h-3h to 1h or something like that. He would have to do more little rough sessions though to keep up with the schedule. :P

I don't think the mattock becomes indestructible after taking it through to the next floor. Instead, it resets the amount of uses that it took to zero. Seeing as it is more and more likely to break the longer you use it, it is very close to indestructible, but not really. (Think of it like miles on a car).

NL, I doubt you can kill Anubis unless you get paste or get a weapon after dying, so don't skip the giant spider in the caves, his paste is valuable in killing Anubis

Nothernlion when ever it you can i would recommend getting paste, it means you will have an easy method to kill Anubis and Anubis II, because finding a weapon can be hard at that point also wouldn't it be safe to assume if you don't find the head on the second level to kill your self right away on the third? northernlion, you don't need to get killed near the statue, this was a limitation of the PC version, where the game only loads what arounf you, but on the PC the whole level is loaded at once, so you can kill your seld in any way but bombs that will blow the statue up.

No it's a Crystal skull if you collect four in one run the alien level unlocks Indiana Jones when you beat it.......(But they are called Crystal skulls)

you should go to the worm lvl you have to get monty on to the stycky ball then you jump on the midle of it on te forest lvl or the ice caves

I was just thinking that, on super meat boy they had a spelunky character, and on this the have a SMB character. On isaac they have a spelunky item (spelunkers helmet), so why not have a isaac item on spelunky? Maybe one that lets you shoot tears, but it's hard to get for example you get it in the city of gold, or maybe the black market for a lot of money.

Hopefully NL has learned from this, he needs to get the paste if he wants to get to the City of Gold, not to even mention Hell. I also think that he should have bought the Jetpack in that store in the mines, he had the Mattock(and Udjat Eye) so he could have easily made up for the price.
