A good trick for getting through the black market when the shopkeepers are hostile: Upon entering the level, immediately rope up as high as you can, that way you'll be out of their shotgun blast range. Then throw bombs until you kill the first shopkeeper. After that shotgun the rest from a distance and bomb the Ankh seller.

Pro tip: If you're angered the shopkeepers and you're in the black market, toss a rope and hang as high as you can. They tend to not be able to reach you. Better yet, if you can hide in a gap above where the Ankh is sold, that's even better.

Yo NL, I know you like to just discover things, but some stuff will take you many many deaths to figure out. So please, save yourself a lot of mental anguish and read a few comments. Some facts: 1 damsel sacrifice = random item you don't have, doesn't include held items 2 damsel sacrifices = kapala 4 damsel sacrifices = 8 health! The pitcher's mitt is great for killing Anubis I, II and the final boss. A shotgun is better, but it's hard to get one for the final boss without slaying shopkeepers.

Foxman just beat Hell a SECOND time, watch and learn NL, he used the +12 health boost from a 4th damsel sacrifice after reviving AGAIN. you NEED that 4-damsel-sacrifice after you've revived using the ankh, if you go completely without sacrificing (no kapala) there's basically no chance to amass enough health to withstand hell.

NL... you HAVE to learn to fight shopkeepers. When you can manage them... there will be time loss and risks with all the gold finding/jumping everywhere. And your playthroughs will be much more faster and efficient
