NL, from the Spelunky Wiki: Vlad's Amulet is a unique item that grants the Spelunker invulnerability to Magma Men and lava. It is only available on 5-1 of Hell inside a block at the top of Vlad's Castle (visible with the Udjat Eye or Glasses). Only one can be acquired each game. NL, you're really missing out. Getting Vlad's Amulet has no drawbacks whatsoever, and having protection against magma men and lava is SO useful in Hell.

he does record, but it is rendering. Imaging rendering an hour video in 1080p for every Spleunky. When NL played on Xbox, he didn't do too well, so rendering in 1080p was great for the video lengths.

It's the retexturing within the NL mod of Spelunky that changes some items to look like BoI items

8:30 you didn't need to use a rope to kill the bat. You can just keep whipping and slowly climbing the rope and it will get hit. (I realize that would not have changed the outcome of the run, it's just a tip for the future for him or others who did not know.)

I know it's probably irritating to have people cutting you down on your best run ever, but keep in mind that a lot of people don't wait until the end of the video to comment, and the lack of ropes DID put you in some scary situations that could have ended the run. Big congrats on your success though

It would be the best troll if for 1 week or so Spelunky got a tiny change where floating on to spikes does actually kill you, and maybe other such trolls like that

Being invulnerable against magma men is nice but honestly, 90% of the time you won't need it (enough bombs to just rush through hell). Not worth the risks associated with having to get through to get the amulet. That said, -sometimes- it'll be in an easy place to just grab and run.

I would assume the whip would do bugger all, so it would have to be the machete or the crysknife, which is a one shot. A machete kill would be, while practically impossible, interesting.

I think you're a little more afraid of bees than you should be. Sure, I'd never trying to kill them with the whip, since they have kind of erratically, but with any kind of projectile weapon? They're not so bad.
